Not according to Kirby in the last Crew News sessions; within a few months, they will place an order for both narrow and wide body a/c. We shall see......

After last week's events, I don't think they'll be ordering Boeing aircraft [sic] 😛h34r:

By the time airbus gets the A350 into a customers hands we will all be doing moon trips. I'm sure they have something else in mind before that joke gets in the air.

They are looking at anything they can get deals on the west 757's need replaced soon they will not hold up. and I would bet that they would put wide bodies on the hawaii runs as soon as they can due to the weight restrictions the planes have been going out this week with around 50 seats blocked on the non heavy 757's due to head winds. by the way a question was asked if the company was looking into 777's and they didn't say they wern't and that was in the state of the airline q&a's.

320tech....

I believe you are correct. My information is that they are preparing to place a narrowbody order ( 100 a/c) from either Airbus/Boeing to replace all 737's.

Also a widebody a/c order is a maybe......possibly something like some a B777  to do the real long-range stuff...such as Tel-Aviv and/or a China route request. This was all waiting on the DAL decision and now that that is finalized they want ot move forward agressively.

The 332's I don't believe; someone please correct me if I am wrong, are capable of PHL-TEL or PHX-PEK/PHL-NRT?
I think the company realizes as well that the A350's may never really arrive or US would be left to far behind in Int'l flying if they wait for them.

I did not attend Kirby's Crew News session, but this is what I heard.
Anyone have further info? How soon could we get some 777's if ordered tomorrow? I heard about 2 years.

Anyone have good info to confirm?

Have there been any discussion on connecting people on the east coast with direct flights to Hawaii maybe out of CLT or PHL!
I do believe Delta has a direct flight from ATL.

A/C 610US was the first B757-200 US bought brand new from Boeing, it was titled "Ideas that Fly" and was purchased from the cost saving ideas from the employees.

Just curious. Does anyone know when US took delivery of this a/c? I think I may have flown on it.

I believe it was deliverd on 2/26/93.

610 had "Ideas that Fly" in script under the cockpit on the fuselage on both sides of the plane.

So much for "ideas that fly". They ought to bring that slogan back and let some of the employees bring the ideas instead of forcing managemtents never ending cluster f's. Isn't getting rid of that a/c almost like Delta getting rid of their 767 that they retired to a museum? 🙄 Oh yeah, as for the 330-200 from PHX, doesn't Northwest use the 330-200 to asia now? I do believe they do.

Travelpro72...

NWA is using the 332; right now anyway, only from PDX and SEA to NRT for example and some trans-atlantic. MSP-NRT is still being flown with a 744.

That was my question.....does the 332 have the range for: PHL-TEL, PHL-PEK, PHL-NRT or even PHX-PEK for that matter?

Answer that question and one could probably guess what direction US is headed as far as equipment orders, since they have stated that they want to serve Tel-Aviv and possibly China in the future. 😉

Range (w/max. passengers) 12,500 km.(metric) 6,750 nm.(imperial)

For example, PHL-TLV is 5760 miles.

PHL-NRT is 6740 miles

PHL-PEK is 6870 miles

PHX-PEK is 6500 miles

Isn't NRT Slot Restricted? What would it take to get some if they are?
