clt is the worst when it comes to customs for crews. All crew members bags are being run though customs machine at exit----as of Sat nite---watch out for your 100$ apple/orange etc etc left in your bags--this was in CBS messege---plus we're waiting in regular pax line also
So you think it is Customs responsibility to teach us how it feels to be a passenger? I thought your fight was against the mgmt team that is dumbing down our product, not against the front line employees you claim to be routing for?Or perhaps a lesson in understanding how it feels to be a customer?
When I was invited "Behind the Curtain" in PHL by CCY I gained a much deeper appreciation for what the employees have had to endure.
Part of the reason I do post here is to help employees and customers gain that understanding so maybe we can make each others lives a little more pleasant. Tempe makes that difficult but hey life isn't easy
Why should USAirways employees be taught lessons on how the INS (or whatever federal agency is in charge of customs and immigration checkpoints at airports) treats its "customers"?Well you might not need to be taught any lessons. HOWEVER there are a few who do need a refresher course.
If it's at the end of a trip I go first, if connecting during a trip- customer goes first... 😉Are CLT crews scheduled to arrive in the late Int'l arrival bank usually on the last trip of their pairing, or are they usually heading for another flight? If it is another flight I could see where they are having a real big problem in CLT, especially if the crews are saying to the customers "no, you go first."
LCC_#1--- just to clear what I meant by standing in PAX line----not at the initial customs checkin---crews still have the crew line thankgoodness---but in the final line beyond PAX bag claims area---thats where the luggage checking machine is ----random PAX & bags go through here---ALL crewmembers go through---saw at least one F/A bag with a 100$ apple in it and a not to happy F/A. They do give you one last chance to cough up the fruit etc etc before your bag goes in machine.
well, well well......how suddenly the FACTS get told. If there is a sign or an announcement to dispose of "banned" items and ANYONE (customer or crew) decides to play the odds, they SHOULD get fined- and IF it is a crew member (who knows the regulation) they need to be slapped with a double fine for Sheer STUPIDITY. I have no sympathy for these people that disregard the rules.LCC_#1--- just to clear what I meant by standing in PAX line----not at the initial customs checkin---crews still have the crew line thankgoodness---but in the final line beyond PAX bag claims area---thats where the luggage checking machine is ----random PAX & bags go through here---ALL crewmembers go through---saw at least one F/A bag with a 100$ apple in it and a not to happy F/A. Does this mean the crews are smuggling? On asking couple questions on the island "spirits" forbidden as of 11/06 on person while on company property--was told the actions of a few folks resulted in this rule.
