Been following this subject here on this board and observing the operators in action.
Couple of points. Watch how the Captains taxi those A/C. Try slowing down in the ramp areas. A Captain can lock up those 12 main gear brakes if he has to, that little tug won't stop a B777 as quickly. Last guy I saw was doing 20+ knots in a congested MIA alley. That speed is for the "open road" taxiways, not in the ramp. Try asking the pilots about ground handling sometime. Most guys will be happy to talk about it.
Someone else posted something about complying with the ground controllers. Tell them exactly what you can and cannot do. Do not agree to do something unsafe or you can't comply with. If they insist, tell them to F. O. We do it all the time. It's their job to push metal, it's our job (MX included) to say no. No hard feelings, just stand on safety, and they'll get the message.
Airplanes drive like pigs on the ground whether it's from the cockpit, a regular tug, or the G.H. Keep you heads on a swivel and stay safe. 😉
(P.S. Welcome to the, "one F.U. and you're on CNN party  )
