not true WT  the fact is  and this was confirmed by an ACTIVE DL EMPLYEE at BWI that there is a large significant movement that most of them feel is going to push in the IAM instead of the nonsense crap DL pulls.   Most of the folks I have spoken to over the last several weeks at DL say they feel very strongly that the IAM will take over at DL

Robbed BWI is one small DL station, surely you aren't suggesting they are representative of DL employees across the system? Is BWI even a mainline station for DL?

Josh

there are 60K non-union DL employees.

One is representative of nothing, regardless of where they are.

ZERO and ZERO are the only accurate barometers of union penetration of DL.

DL employees JUST SAY NO.

Delta F/S's are soon to realize just like the pilots over at JetBlue have finally realized, that representation is the better way to go.  And this was done only a few months after JB gave pilots 17% increases to try and keep the union out.  Pretty darn sure the F/A's at JB will soon be unionized as well as the mechanics too.  It is clear the pilots are envisioning something to come in the future and they want to be represented instead of being left at the table all alone.  The Delta employees that were directly effected by this major reduction by Delta at DFW knows first hand how it feels when Delta just does what Delta wants to do without any say so what-so-ever, or input from the employees.  If they were union, (and this includes the mechanics at Delta too) then there could be language to deter Delta from just displacing employees at a drop of the hat.  Unions are not just for pay and benefits, they are in fact for equal and fair treatment as well.  Just because you are unionized does not automatically mean you will be paid the highest, have the best benefits ect... Both JetBlue and Delta have proven this as neither one of them are at the bottom of any of their groups pay scales or benefits within the industry as a whole.  It's more about having a say-so when there are, mergers, buy-outs, reductions in force, BK's, and rules and regs that both sides have to follow and just can't do whatever they want to.  Like I said before and hurt someones feelings,  get union representation in order to have your voices heard.  Stay unrepresented and let the company run all over their employees just like the DFW closure and displacement of thousands upon thousands of employees in all work groups.  I hope you guys get it done,  good luck...

Why not? The sentiment Robbed notes is absolutely occurring across the system.

Is BWI even a mainline station for DL?

Josh
Of course it is.

...Thanks to the scope clause in a CBA...

Well put, and thanks.

JBLU pilots were underpaid relative to their peers at other airlines and B6 is finally getting unions to force the company to spend money on its people.

The 20% pay raise that the B6 pilots got might have made a difference if B6 had spent the money a long time ago.

In complete contrast, DL FAs have seen the fastest increase in their compensation of any FAs in the industry over the past 5 years and are participating in DL's successes such that they will blow past AA's "industry leading" contract that really isn't.

so tell us, how were you personally affected by DL's closure of the DFW hub?

I'm so glad after all of these years of butting heads, we finally get down to what really motivates you.

Is it really THAT BAD having to work for WN?

Hey Kev,
you do realize DL gave you a profit sharing check because they COULD, not because they were obligated to do so under a CBA?

can you list us the workgroups in the industry that will receive profit sharing as large as what DL employees will receive?

IT looks like this:

ZERO AND ZERO

well, yeah, Sherlock.

Everyone earns something.

Without a contract, though, DL is free to do what they want, right? that's what we here continuously.

They GAVE it to you because they wanted to.

not a thing.
it is their choice.

But they aren't stupid enough to cut their compensation in order to join a union that does less than what DL management has done for DL employees, FAs included.

You really don't have a clue.  JB pilots DID NOT vote in the union for pay reasons as you state above. If you read (and can comprehend) the pilots reasoning for going union just months after getting a 17% increases you would know that the main reason is not pay or benefits, it's got everything to do with representation at the table because they feel that a possible merger is upon JB and they don't want to be left behind without representation at the table.
If you could comprehend you would already know (just like all the others out here) that I was not directly effected by the Delta rifs and reductions at DFW.   You think you know what motivates me, but you are wrong again as usual.  Another thing you have no clue about is that it is NEVER "that bad" working at SWA.  Let's see how's that saying go?  "I will take the worst day at SWA over the best day at any other airline."  hands down.  Nobody has the track record that SWA has for all kinds of areas with profits and employees being the best.

You are still not getting it...

SCOPE is one of the most important part of any union n contract its something DL pilots n dispatchers both have
