Take it up with our corporate benefactor; they're the ones who set the parameters of these policies.

I believe the harder you work the more you get.
Okay, let's unpack that one a bit:

Do you think the pilots up front are "working harder" than you are in the aisles?

Does the F/A doing 4 domestic legs/day "work harder" than, say, someone doing a single PDX-NRT?

How 'bout that crew underneath your wing working in the blazing ATL heat/humidity? They're likely "working harder" than the AW agents scanning BP's, right? They should get more?

I don't think you're ever going to get everyone to agree to split the profits on a per capita basis.
I don't either; I'm optimistic, not naive. As noted in the now closed DL labor thread, this something I'd like to see, not something I expect to happen...

Yep. If everyone is compensated the same, why go through all the training to become a pilot?
Why go through all the schooling, to become a Doctor?
Why go to school to become an AMT?

If not for higher compensation, why strive to better your lot in life?

Not everyone is in it for the money.
Maybe so but, I'm sure the majority are.
Besides, good intentions do not repay the loans taken out to attain these positions.

Not everyone is in it for the money.
and yet not one of them has ever returned their paycheck or their profit sharing check or given it all away.

If any of those happened, you can bet the world would know, regardless of the company involved.

Money may not motivate everyone but what they do with it says a great deal about their real lives, said or unsaid.

Maybe not at DL, but certainly at AA, there are repeated (and well documented on the forums) cases of "thanks for a good job" reward cards and even checks being returned to the company uncashed/unused.

paychecks? I doubt it.

but if you can point me where it shows that AA employees are not accepting their paychecks, I'd be more than interested in seeing it.

reward cards and related prizes? I'm sure... at many companies.

You said profit sharing. Reward cards were a form of profit sharing, since they were in recognition of profitability in the absence of a profit sharing program.

profit sharing is a defined entity and I doubt if any DL employees returned them.

I can believe that individuals might have returned individual rewards - but DL does not directly provide cash; employees get points in a bank which they can then use.

and, no, DL had individual performance rewards specifically to provide individual specific acknowledgement of work that is well done; it is not and never has been designed to be a replacement or substitute for profit sharing.

I am certain some of those banks go untouched.

that is NOT profit sharing, shared rewards (which are in cash and paid with the paycheck), or the actual paycheck itself.
