of course it's not an LOA.

what would you call a scheduling option when you receive benefits but you don't have to work the equivalent of six months?

duck, quack.
because your assuming that people are going to do it in-mass.

getting sick time doesn't pay rent. You don't get paid by not flying. I'll be willing to bet that AA has very few FAs that just stop flying.

and I guess you aren't going to answer my questions eh? Waiting for the comparison of work rules since you must know them all.

Fitch acknowledges that Delta’s underfunded pension plans “remain a concern” and  ”a key overhang” on its credit rating, noting that Delta’s defined benefit pension  plans were underfunded by $10.1 billion at year-end 2013 and saying it “expects that figure do increase at year-end 2014 due to the prevailing interest rate environment.”

I just want to know, the IAM being transparent and all that, how many cards have been collected, and when's the vote......do they even have enough, for a vote?

But the vote is "soon" or "by the end of the year"  lol.....as far as f/a's isn't the number creeping up to  11,000 cards needed to be signed?
300+ f/a's will be on property by next month.  Close to 2,000 more in 2015

No one ever releases how many cards are signed.

And why is Delta spending millions to fight unions?

Why do they use third party firms when Delta says they want a "direct relationship" with its employees?

If the IAM isn't transparent and you don't know, just say so. No sense in changing the subject.

......and the millions of IAM dues going towards a failed campaign to represent Delta f/a's.
and speaking of third parties.....the IAM is a third party.  Many outsiders trying to weasel their
way into my pack check.

If you're going to use that logic, then where's the outrage against:

ESIS?
Sedgwick?
PeopleScout?
Ingenix?
Financial Engines (who miraculously has access to all our financial info, btw)?
The ESC?

Those are literally 3rd parties, are not employee driven, and cost us all- yet not a word.

What gives?

and so are insurance companies that provide health care benefits for DL people.

should they be knocked off?

but they are a third party.

are you going to start processing insurance claims for DL to keep the work in-house.

DL may do a lot of things well but they recognize the value of having a company that has the size to negotiate with health care providers and thus outsources the work.

and you fail to note that DL is bucking the industry by bringing its formerly WSPN employees back to DL.

No it's not-certainly not in the same context as the others I've listed.

If one wants to lump an employee driven group in with literal outside firms, then one must apply the same criteria to all.

P.S. I would be happy to help process claims if it meant bringing work in-house. Unfortunately, my station is dangerously short-staffed, so adding anything to my plate isn't really an option right now...

DL hired you to do what you do better than anyone else.

They hire companies that provide employer support services such as for HR to do what they do best.

there is no fear of you having to start processing insurance claims for DL.

they won't be working your ramp either.

DL didn't hire me; NW did.

Nevertheless, the fallacy of railing against representation as a "3rd party" while being okay with the other firms listed stands...

by your own statements, DL could easily get rid of you if they didn't think you were worth keeping.

they clearly do believe you are worth the investment.

I am simply noting that your argument about 3rd parties carries both positives and negatives. I believe that Baba is saying the exact same thing.

WRT union representation, your DL peers, not me, do not think the benefits are worth more than the cost.
