Delta Airline Pilot & President of ALPA has some advice: During a conference call where he discussed the JetBlue pilots decision to unionize, Moak declared: “If you’re not at the table, you’re probably on the menu. They decided to organize so they were at the table.”

Delta President Ed Bastian also speaks of the carrier’s positive relationship with its Union pilots.

Asked whether Wall Street should be concerned with the next round of negotiations over a contract that becomes amendable in 2016, Bastian responded, “You shouldn’t be concerned about it, simply because of our track record. If you look back over the past eight years, we’ve always been able to partner with our pilots and figure out what we need to do to keep Delta at the top of the industry,” Bastian said. “Our track record is the best in the industry in that regard.”

Executives seem proud of the fact that they negotiate industry leading contracts with their unionized employees. It's time to ask yourself where you want to be, on the menu or at the table? If you want a seat at the table, you need to get involved. Become an activist and carry union authorization cards.

DL BWI bagroom is not DL employees but the ramp is   go figure that
And pretty soon for UA bagroom, ramp, and passenger service will all be vendors.

Josh

actually UA at BWI is staying ML for quite a while  But most of their FT went either to another city or down to PT    As for DL  it is a FACT that their bagroom is outsourced yet the ramp is ML

As far as the ramp is concerned, 40 NW stations AFTER BK compared to 14 at D E L T A, with NW it was small stations (under 49 flights a week), that got the ax, with D E L T A  it could be a hub or a small spoke.  List all the %'s you want, for a airline the size of D E L T A, 15 stations with M/L ramp at the time of the merger was pathetic.

Your flyer is wrong, Virgin Atlantic is NOT a SkyTeam member/partner. They are Delta partners, participate in a joint venture with DL and DL owns 49% of VS but theybare not in SkyTeam. But hey never expected the folks in Upper Marlboro to get it right. After all the IAM is the union that regularly loses grievances for not writing clear language.

That is now Robbed but the new agreement will allow them to contract it out.

that's false advertising.

a union contract HAS NOT protected work at other airlines.
because you cant read a contract or understand them doesn't mean they don't have scope champ.

the CBAs didn't protect jobs anywhere near as well as DL did.

and you can't say that a CBA that doesn't exist can provide protections which haven't even been negotiated.
who does more in-house MX work, Delta or American?

this

dawg,
why don't you ask that question in a couple of years after Parker has had enough time to reshape AA into his image?

AA, even under native mgmt. started to send overhauls to Asia like other carriers. that trend over time is not going to be reversed.

For someone who constantly tells everyone not to look down the road, you sure have no problem telling us what DP will be doing in a couple of years....

josh   If UA does outsource BWI  it wont happen til roughly 2017 or 18 from what the folks tell me.   Just cuz Virgin Atlantic is not a Skyteam member  but is 49% stake from DL  doesn't mean that their union cant support DL FAs  and that poster 700 put up is just there to show support from VA crew members to DL FAs in the hopes that they will become union

Robbed I agree but the flyer is inaccurate Virgin Atlantic has NEVER been part or SkyTeam.
