If you are a productive employee, the boss will want you back at work ASAP following 'workplace injury' etc. It isn't just DL.
With respect to flightcrew duty hours - those are regulated by the gov. Highly doubt union for FAs at DL is going to change them. (And it also begs the question: if they are so horrible, why haven't unions done anything to improve them over the last 60 years).
I konw I sound like an a$$hole, but the reasons for unionization are all BS - other than the maybe possibility of negotiating a higher compensation package. But it seems to me that at DL, compensation isn't a problem, so the reason(s) for union representation is going to be a tough one to make. IMHO.
