I still have not seen any link to any official news that the 22 have been involved in any legal proceedings or arrests from the incident. Is it indeed true that they have been arrested or ordered to turn themselves in for any form of processing?

After reading many of your posts, your opinion seems heavily skewed against organized labor. So who's the sock puppet?
If management decided to beat up employees, I would be the first to condemn it.

Unions have a long history of using violence and intimidation to get their way, and spin or double talk is gonna change that.

Management used the courts system to beat up the employees, if you worked for East you would know that.

And you forget it was companies that hired goon squads to threaten, hurt, maim, intimidate and kill union members and sympathizers.

Don't let history get in the way of your post.

Guess you don't know about Henry Ford, the Haymarket Square, Pinkerton's, General Motors sit-in, Maetwan and many other events where companies used violence against the workers.

My opinion here is as welcome as yours.
I am amazed at all the subtle justification given by the union sock puppets for assault and battery. Its borderline cultlike.

Assault someone, go to jail, its not a difficult concept.
Amen to that.....these self righteous a$$es who think their opinions are the only ones that count really crack me up, they are so full of themselves!!

And BTW....lock the 22 up and throw away the key!!

I was not comparing the 22 to things that happened in the past,as a matter of fact no where in my post was the 22 mentioned.

I was informing hpearlyretiree aka union-hater that management throughout history has used violence against workers.

HAVE YOU SEEN OUR PAY!!!!LOL
Why do you think I took early retirement?

I had to make some dough!

Oh and 700? I don't hate unions, just think they are corrupt and outdated, and run, by and large, by criminals. It was a good idea 80 years ago when companies did do what you said, but for God's sake man, its 2006, companies grew up, unions with thugs and goons didn't.

You are truly misinformed, companies have grown up?

Wow, I have just seen ignorance hit an all time high.

Companies abuse their workers union or non-union when they can, just look at the airline industry as a perfect example.

If you actually believe your post then there is no hope in educating you what actually goes on in the real world.

You must have had a really bad experience. Pretty myopic if you ask me. And pretty unfair. This is 2006, at least you got that right.

Establishment of a livable wage, 8-hour day, overtime, health care contributed by employers, Life ins. retirements, vacation days, sick, grievance process, work rules, safety in the work place is all only part of what organized labor brings to the table.

Your ability to take an early retirement is brought through negotiations. If it was up to Corporate America, they would send you off with a Timex watch and maybe a piece of cake.

Unions keep a balance in the work place and as a by-product allows for the establishement of wages, 8-hour work day, overtime, and benefits for non-union workers as well. It applied 50 years ago and applies up to present day, 2006.

To me the open question is "What did the IAM Leadership know about this action and when did they know it?"

I don't believe the International or DL141 knew what was going to go down, and when I say DL141 I mean Randy Canale. In fact as I said earlier I don't think the 22 even knew it would snowball into what it did. It's already been established that an AGC from the District was involved, but I don't believe that he had the blessing of Canale.

If an election were to take place it was almost certain that 50% + 1 would not have been possible and the FSA would have been left with no union. Having gone through decertification once before in 1991 people were upset. FSA were shafted constantly by the company and no one wanted that to happen again. On top of that there are three AGCs from PHL and the FSAs control LL1776. For a select handful of people this is a sweet gig. You can get off on union business at will and take some pretty nice trips to conventions and such. I'm not just talking about the AGCs either. Losing the union meant being open to the companies will again, but more importantly for those select few it meant the possibility of actually having to show up for work every day and start slinging bags again.

Did the District know beforehand? We know for a fact that at least one person being paid by DL141 knew. I'm not so sure anyone else knew though. I guess technically the District was involved since an AGC was, but it's a stretch to say the District was involved.

In any case it's going to get very interesting very soon.

I have all that now, and have always had it in 28 years of working and have never needed a union to get it for me. He's right....it's 2006, not 1906.

No bad experiences, I just live in the real world where the huge majority of people don't belong to a union.

And that world grows larger every year!

If it hadn't been for unions and their membership sacrificing for those things, you wouldn't have them.

Many things we take for granted used to come about only if you had a contract. Unions, to their credit got many contract items passed into law.

When everyone has finished bashing everyone else, can someone please answer my previous question?
