Hp Hiring Flight Attendants

I dont particularly want to see anybody hurt, but I am sure tired of working for a "loser" airline and management that doesnt give a crap. If I'm going to come in and bust my ass to get my job done, I want to be able to be proud at the end of the day that at least it was for something.

The trick will be getting everyone to work as one megaunit and to focus all animosity towards Southwest. One common enemy. We need to think how every success, every satisfied passenger, every happy cargo customer, every on-time push, is a blow to Southwest. Focust the hatred on one object. No more of this shotgun blast negativity. Focus!

Actually I think it's going to be the other way around. America West will be the memory. We're losing the name America West for petes' sakes. Geez! Chill out! LOL

I grew up working for HP. I've been here almost 20 years and enjoy working here and will always treasure that memory.
As far as the new improve airline, I am looking forward to it and I am glad to hear that most US F/A are happy where they are.

If we all work together, think positive, create a positive environment, it will work out.

So everyone. Chill out. Let go of the ego. Humble yourself and let's all work together.

Yes..we at U are happy this is going on.We can not wait to get rid of our managment and start all over with Mr. Parker. This is going to be a great future for th new Usairways (AWA and U employees) 😛

Because the merger hasn't gone through and the HP flight attendants, (rightfully) would be up in arms having a bunch of new hires with lots of seniority taking up their trips.

duh

I dont think thats what they meant. Why not hire the US furloughed F/As, if they choose, at the bottom of the seniority list until they are recalled to the US side. They would be happy to have the job, and it would bring to the merger a group of F/As familiar with both operations, and probably build valuable bonds.

Most importantly, it brings furloughess back while preventing the creation of more furloughees in the future.

This makes a ton of sense, actually....

That kind of talk belongs at AA, not here. We all just work here; we don't make the Big Decisions.

The merged airline is going to be one airline, not a bunch of little kingdoms. If the US flight attendants want low paying jobs with HP, they come and get hired by HP. Why should HP have a class that may have off the street hires at the bottom of seniority and furloughed US people at a higher level of seniority?

HP is hiring for PHX based Flight attendants, that is where we need them NOW, at America West, not at the merged company that will exist at some point in the future.

Without HP, US would be a memory, remember that please.

Not to be rude as I don't want any bad blood between US/AWA employees but Without U AWA would eventually end up at the bottom of someone elses seniority list please remember that.

And the same wouldn't happen at US, if not on the unemployment line?

I know very well that U was in trouble and could very well fail. I am just saying that together we get to keep our seniorty that we all worked very hard for and our dignity(not at the bottom of someone elses list). AWA could not merge with any other airline that would give it the protection of not being put at the bottom of someones lists that you will get with a U/AWA merger. This is going to be a very good thing. Some AWA employees feel that they are saving U and thats ok with me because I feel that in return we are saving you right back.

Hey its a free world HP eat what ya like.

Okay you guys all need to chill. US and AWA need to work together if we're going to make our airline successful.

Doug pointed out that we need to remember that we need US Airways as much as US needs AWA. Seperately our carriers would not be viable. Together, we are going to be a strong entity. Think Positive!
Sure HP could have made it on it's own, but in order to get slots and become even more successful etc. It needed another airline.
Other airlines were like vultures circling the dying US just waiting for it to liquidate, so they could get the slots. Then there came AWA. The little airline that could who didn't have the $$ to buy another airline managed to convince investors to put $$ on this merger. If we didn't merge with US, the other airlines would have taken everything. AWA didn't have the $$ to buy another carrier, SW and the other carrier does. We need to remember with the cost of oil increasing as it is, this is not a good thing. AWA only owns a small percentage of our assets, which means we really don't have anything more to borrow money against. Not a good place to be!
We need to remember that both airlines need each other equally. There is no one airline saving another airline, however separately, the future was not
looking to bright for either airline. We need US to have a strong East Coast presence and they need us to have a strong West Coast precense. If we can pull this off, they might add another hub in the Midwest or anywhere in the middle. Think Positive and Be Proactive!

The next AWA F/A contract will also have Satelite Bases, so this would be good for commuters. So stop worrying guys! Chill !!! We're going to pull this off and we're going to be succesful.

I couldn't agree with you more. Since there is NOTHING either side can do to change what is happening, we need to work together to make this thing work.

hmmmm miss thing..... check your facts..... its outside investors bringing the money to the table not HP ... Although they are merging neither airline is bringing cash only debt so in all actuality they are saving each other... and thats that.... 😀

What is sooooo hard to understand about this union of the two 🙄 . This has been asked before I'm sure but if America West was not to merge with Usairways HOW LONG do they honestly think they could have stood alone in this industry. At the bottom of what other airlines list. Neither airline are bringing cash to the table but all outside investors. I am so damn tired of hearing that were being rescued. We BOTH are being rescued. Your management, Our Name.......and a hell of a route structure combined. Why all the crap between employees? we have WHAT kind of say? 🙄
