To share w/other HP emps:
The current PSA and Piedmont have nothing to do with the original PSA and Piedmont.
And, the MidAtlantic is indeed being sold off, to be contracted back again, however, w/o the US crews.

These are the planes:

E170:

and the longer E190, which doesn't operate yet but can also be operated by Republic or another contractor. This a 100 or 108 seater depending on configuration. JetBlue will be operating these too (not contracting).

There is also an E195 coming that can be configured with up to 116 seats. These planes need to be at the mainline. :unsure:

Actually I think it's going to be the other way around. America West will be the memory. We're losing the name America West for petes' sakes. Geez! Chill out! LOL

I grew up working for HP. I've been here almost 20 years and enjoy working here and will always treasure that memory.
As far as the new improve airline, I am looking forward to it and I am glad to hear that most US F/A are happy where they are.

If we all work together, think positive, create a positive environment, it will work out.

FINALLY a voice of reason. Most of US and AW employees have been through very rough times and should embrace the merger. Postive outlook will create a POSITIVE work environment. I'm leaving after 25 years, come DEC, but STILL wish the best for all who still are employed! Best of luck to the "NEW", and hopefully improved, USairways. And to ALL of its employees,furloughees, retirees!!

Look, HP had to do something, I agree, US had to do a heck of a lot more, and had the merger never came up, US, in all likelyhood wasn't gonna pull out of it.

Hate to sound harsh about it, but if they couldn't raise any dough, they sure weren't going to make enough on their own to pull them out.

I hope like hell this merger works out, and I will continue to support the airline, even to the point of flying (gasp!) as a regular paying passenger!!!!!

EXACTLY! I'm sick of hearing it from a small minority of employees here who says the same thing. They are doing a great job there blah blah blah. Well why don't they work over there then? I think we have the ability to the same thing here. I have a friend who works for SW and he said they do a good job of getting rid of employees who badmouths their company. I agree with you! I too would like to reclaim our territory back in Phoenix and Las Vegas.

If your not built from the ground up around low cost initiatives and your employees aren't 3X as productive as the normal airline employee (oh, did I mention fuel hedges......
