The BK for AWA was early 90s and it only happened ONCE. US was twice in as many years and that was just freakin' yesterday. Good golly, Miss Molly.

What our friend doesn't understand is, we were in bankruptcy a long time ago, and it sucked, and we all pitched in and got out of it and rebuilt a sucessful airline (even with Bill Franke).

I am very proud of HP, and for years had to hear every self styled expert telling us that we couldn't make it, we wouldn't make it, there is no way we could make it. And every single time, they were wrong, dead wrong.

So, naturally, I get a bit steamed when someone gets all pissy, gets it wrong, then PM's me and calls me an obscene name.

Its an internet forum, mistakes are made by everyone from time to time, but nasty PM's are just classless.

You are focused on a number (2). So, it was once. The number is NOT the point. The point was that neither airline would make it without the other. If you continue your thought process for the years to come, you will have many fights on your hands. Although we had horrible "parents" we too are proud of what WE tried to do with our airline. People like you constantly acting like the savior is going to pi$$ alot of people off and you WILL get reactions from people worse than mine. We have people with much more time and loyalty than me. Trust me on that one. You will have problems.

And for the last time, it is not that the times were wrong, it was for your rude comments. Re-read your responses before you go throwing anymore stones.

That was an excellent summation of the convousion of the entire debace...well done.
Is it confusing?..h@ll yes...imagine how the mainline employees who went there feel. the whoe thing boils down to this: the company and ALPA opened a pandora's box with this escape..and it will take gargantuan efforts(thanks AWA) to fix it. AWA seems to have the backbone to hold their ground in this matter...I pray it continues.

🙂 Im sorry, maybe I dont understand, but arent "we" (invol furloughed usairways fa's) STILL employees? So why would be offered positions at awa as "new hires", or would this be until we are recalled back and "shuffled" (for a lack of a better word) in?

i think at the beginning of this thread there was something mentioned about awa hiring us invols, then when the east coast opens back up at our seniority we can go back over there? i just downloaded the most recent seniority list from the hub and i'm still on there after almost 4 yrs! B)

Was told that an exec from AWA said yesterday that they will offer positions to furloughed U f/a's and not hire from the street. This came out of the mouth of an exec. The f/a will be hired on as new hires and be in phx, as a new hire. Then when and if they get recalled at mainline they will have a choice..stay where they are at the AWA seniority or go back to U seniority and go back to the east. This is all gravy..but the pay will start a AWA at like 16 an hour. With each place I go it gets even worse!!!! I started at mainline at 20 now at emb-division at 19 then AWA at 16..I thought the more years you have the pay should increase? CRAZY!!!

Wow! I started at Piedmont in 1986 at $15/hour....and that was B-Scale! Amazing that 20 years later the starting pay is still basically the same. 🙁
