The survey is a joke! The IAM could could care less about our surveys since the website is not private and a mechanic, a manager, or a passenger can fill out our surveys. Other unions use security access codes. I mentioned this the other day but apparently nobody on this site cares. You would all rather talk sh*t about eachother and the GC of phl. Why isn't the IAM decent enough to protect our surveys and give us security codes like the other unions? Who is filling these surveys out? What a joke!
You know this is a JOKE ( the surveys ) when anyone can fill one out.

I filled mine out, but as much as I hate to admit it unionworks is right.
I find it interesting that you find the survey a joke considering it is open for all to participate. The rank and file have easy access to participate without the cumbersome password protocol. It aint no secret what we want in the next contract. We all know it, and so does bloodsucking management. Management can attempt to skew the survey, but it will be futile. Professionals will compile the results for our Negotiation Team to take to the table with them. We don't need no stinking password.

I for one am happy with Negotiation Team and know they will achieve what cornhole and his clowns couldn't.

Freedom and Joker go ahead and flap your pie hole some more, so we all can have a good laugh.

actually , i've had a stunning change of heart ... as far as i'm concerned this company has PLENTY of money .... if they can pay their executives so much money that it just rains from the sky , then they can afford to pay the workers a livable wage , not to mention stop outsourcing our jobs ...

i'm no longer a company man ...

You are all over the map, aren't you?

i wouldn't say so ... before i used to take a more measured approach to what we should demand from the company ... on the one hand during the last negoations i wanted wage increases , but on the other hand i took into account that our company wasn't made of money and that the economy was bad ....reasonable views if you ask me ...

even as we came into this round of talks , i used to think it was imporant to weight the state of the economy and all of the mitigating factors against what we could demand or expect in contract negoations ...

but i'm tired of the richest 2% in the nation dictating how regular people have to live .... the people living in the million dolllar communities with armed guards and private schools for their children have lost my respect ....

He will have changed his mind by tomorrow morning.

no i don't think i will , and now that we know the company is afraid of boycotts , we can use that to our advantage in contract discussions .....

perhaps if we don't get a favorable contract our union will PROUDLY come out publicly and let the entire country know that IAM 141 and the US Airways workers who are part of the union support the state of arizona and all effrots to fight illegal immgration ...

😉

Contract changes I think most here would like to see myself included..better scope/language especially better wages/sick/vacation 401k may be the IAM pension can be fixed as well

Wow, hell is getting a little chilly! Freedom is now jaded with US Airways! Must be that 5 year itch! Sorry to rip, bud, but I remember arguing with you on the T.A. The station I was at back then is now being handled by a bunch of scab wannabie airline workers with no benefits and $7.50 an hour. NOT GOOD! Outsourcing sucks! I am still employed on the ramp with US Airways thankfully, but not with out much personal sacrifice. Glad to see you have a change of heart on the matter, or perhaps it is the influx of senior agents from outsourced and furloughed stations coming to PHX bumping you down the totem pole... hmmm. Either way, glad to see you are claiming to have shed your kool-aid skin.

I don't like this "anybody can submit there ideas on the IAM webiste" for our upcoming negotiations. At least there is a channel to say something, but lets hope that after the IAM leadershift has sifted through the suggestions and have tallied the important aspects, we get a more secure method of selecting out most important topics. Otherwise, we are giving the company ALL the ammo they need to counter each and every aspect of our contract negotiations. We need to GO FOR THE GOLD, because we will likely only get a bronze at this rate! For each item we try to improve language on (which is, and should be, most of the language in the T.A.), the Company will try to take away something else in return. They have been doing it for quite a while now.

As far as the Neg. Team, I am not familiar with some of the names, but I will say this: Man, I hope EACH and EVERY ONE of them is qualified in this area and KNOWS what they are doing. Without this, we stand little chance. I realize the Union speaks for the membership and the wants/needs of this group, however, while we are much more solidified than other unionized groups on the property, we still are split in many areas. What may be important to one is chicken feed to another. Hopefully, this Neg. Team is sensitive to the whole lot of us and not just a few. We all need a good contract, not just a few of us!

OUTSOURCING SUX! Stop the massacre of our membership. Just look at the global seniority list. When the T.A. passed and our IAM and TWU lists were merged, take a look at where you were and where you are now. Moving up a bit aren't ya? That is not from retirements in the system. That is from this Company taking the axe that we let them have and swing full force. If this keeps up and we don't stop it, the only places Fleet can look forward to working in the future will be PHL, CLT, PHX, and maybe a couple Florida cities. DO NOT give the keys to the company to allow this anymore. That is not job security! It also takes a chunk out of what the IAM receives in dues from us. It affects the membership in more than one way. It will cause your dues to go up, too!

remember though freedom it was the vast majority folks in the west that voted for the contract that we currently have now because they all got the raise right off the bat and didnt see the fine print where the comp said they can outsource I cant feel for those who are being outsourced simply because they chose to have this POS contract knowingly that they would be giving the jobs up at the expense of the raise.
