Dog , can't give a straight answer .. so your wasting your typing skills on him.. here's a thought

maybe the IBEW doesn't want to jeopardize trying to get representation from us until they know WE want them ..

A real union doesn't take the chance of the membership possibly losing representation. SO the fleet at USAIRWAYS

needs to show them THEY want a CHANGE..

Guys-
It's becoming a ''shut up no you shut up'' thread. If someone adds a
post that doesn't ask or pose a question of relevance please pass that post
by. They are baiting thier hook to have you respond angrily and then have you
suspended from posting.
We (ibew) need people to be able to post info on the IBEW
and continue to answer any serious questions members may have. I know it becomes
difficult to allow this to happen but the focus must remain on the card signing and getting
information out to the members, not dealing with posts designed to create a reaction, to
have you suspended. This has happened already to frequently by some posters' on this
topic............

good point... But may I add that every time dog or some other loyalist post here. it keeps the thread on top of front page

so dog keep up the good work it helps the cause from being put on the back burner..


see you are supporting the IBEW cause .. you just don't know it.

You should let the IBEW supporters alone dog , what's the point in provoking them ?If as you say it’s fruitless for them to keep trying then they can’t hurt anyone if they do . If they are spouting obvious lies or twisting the truth you should absolutely call them out on it , but otherwise don’t waste your time poking the stick in their eye …

We should strive to be civil to one another in this disagreement of opinion because at the end of the day we’re all going to need to be one cohesive team working together to defeat the company .

for some of the newbies on hear .. can you repost some of the IBEW highlights of what type of union they are

how there union is run and some of the other fields they represent besides electrical .. maybe educational for some that maybe

new to how a real union runs . and operates.

good point , but as far as being coming cohesive as one team . See thats where the IAM fails.. there theory is to divide and

conquer the membership.. they did it with mtc/utl for years.. then with fleet in the Class I vs Class II war and now with

the East vs the West .. been down that road for the last time .. it's a deadend.. At least with the IBEW from what I have seen

they want 1 group and that is Usairways fleet service. Not Class I cities Not East cities but everyone that works FLEETSERVICE

think about it.

I understand what you are saying, but there is a big difference between IBEW supporters and 'ibew committee' supporters.

They are not one and the same.

The IBEW is conspicuously absent from this board.
 
I did just that and was amazed at how many different lines of work and locals there were in my town.......They must be representing something/someone right for that many working class people to want to be represented by them! THE IBEW !

I think it’s more about hope than anything else , well except boredom , let’s face it , we’re all a little tired of waiting for the outcome of the COC … I kinda find this whole union drama to be an interesting side show as we wait to find out what the outcome of the COC is going to be .. but yes i do agree with you , i don't like "straw man " committees either .


As to your reply ori man , don’t forget that the TA would have gotten rid of those distinctions and begun to set us back on the road to unity .

I guess the unity is minus the 17 cities the IAM agreed to let the company contract out. remember they are dues paying members also

and lets see the t/a gave the east WHAT exactly.. more vac NOT more pay (well i guess .70) is technically a raise more profit sharing

oh yes and the boring verdict on the COC .. well lets see for us on the east .. ME in particular thats worth oh maybe 15,000.00 to 16,000.00 now .. if its won.
 
i think you misunderstood me , i didn't mean to say that the COC was going to be boring , i ment the WAITING for it is ... the COC outcome is going to be VERY exciting .


yeah your right about getting rid of the 17 cities .. that's something we need to correct in the next TA .

Let's not make this an East vs. West thing. There were alot of things that needed to be fixed in that last TA. First if the company was so sure that we would lose, then why did/are they appealing the decision to let an arbitrator rule on it. Second, if the company thought that we would lose, why would we throw it out in the last TA? Let alone have our own union sell it down the river. When we win the COC, you watch, the I AM MANAGEMENT will try to sell any award down the river to line their own pockets. Let me just put this warning out to our west brothers and sisters. When we win the COC and the I AM MANAGEMENT tries to bargain away any award due us, we as a whole in the east should and will vote down anything that denies us that award. Just FYI. Just ask any east employee if he/she is willing to give back to the company a $15,000 to for some $35,000 retro check. I do not think so.
