IMPRESSIONS OF INCOMPETENCE

Guys,
just a heads up with a certain poster that goes by SIGNALS..

here's what's going on. Over on the fleet board we seem to get invaders for a certain anti labor that likes to come on here and fire everyone up . THE COMPANY is outraged by what is circulating that the UPPERS have assigned someone to sit on this board and try

and flood the thread. I for one think IT'S GREAT cause it just keeps it alive so MANAGEMENT CONTINUE ALL YOU WANT..

Wow, well if that is true (and it wouldn't surprise me one bit) then that is just further evidence that some of the people running this airline have no business doing so, and truly are inept and need to go. With this place in shambles those people need to be focusing ALL of their energy on getting this place together, and quick! instead of having people focus so much on invading an internet board to serve their childish purpose. That is just another shining example of their "arrogance and ignorance". I'm telling you this place reaks of Frank Lorenzo and Texas Air, Eastern, PeopleExpress, New York Air all over again. No one in their right mind could really be this stupid or idiotic to be responsible for so many blunders day after day after day. I mean literally everyday it is something with these people.

The new corporate mantra is

R-Reliability
C-Convenience
A- APPEARANCE

What has gone wrong? Who isn't walking in lockstep?

\If they cannot even buy decent chairs, how are they supposed to buy widebodies with the capability to fly to Asia!

Didn't you hear??? They can't find any--there aren't any on the market. Something about the Chinese New Year.

I'm sure that you are much too young to remember a rock band called The Who. Anyway in a song the lyrics go something like this:

It's the singer not the song
that makes us move along

FAs are the singers.

If there is incompetence at US, then lets head for the lowest common denominator. That would be.....

The Pin Heads drinking the Kool Aid and running the airline INTO THE GROUND in TEMPE

I remember another line from that song as well:

Meet the "new boss"
Same as the "old boss"

Arrogance and Ignorance........it's dangerous combination.

US Airways "Began with US"

I wish you luck at driving the airline into the ground then. If your new boss is the same as your old boss, doesn't it go without saying that your old boss was running the airline into the ground? Wasn't he, too, arrogant and ignorant?

Sometimes the truth hurts and the former US Airways was run by pinheads drinking the Jonestown drink. They ran it into the ground and Tempe inherited it.

Plae? One might ask what a ral might be, as well?

Back on topic:

When the aircraft interiors begin to resemble 1313 Mockingbird Lane, it is extremely disheartening. Incredibly saddened to see those pictures. It must be extremely tough on the employees to go to work everyday and witness the visual decline of what was once an extremely polished operation with a minor hiccup here and there. Sincerely hope that things improve, and soon.

You make a good point. Unfortunately we all heard of the WN situation by now. I find it extremely scary that many people would still rather fly a dangerous situation at WN rather than a trashed interior at US. These (US)boards have accomplished the mission of making the customer want to avoid US like the plague.

It's sad because I am actually hoping US succeeds and improves soon, too.

Didn't you hear??? They can't find any--there aren't any on the market. Something about the Chinese New Year.

LOL....wasn't the blame on the Chinese New Year for the delay of the new uniform? Ironically, if we can get an airplane to go to China next year.....maybe we can pick up the rest of the uniforms Twin Hill is probably having made over there!

"Plae" would be a typo. Not everyone can be a perfect as you.

Lately it seems they're not pointing fingers, they're pointing cameras. No one needs to PhotoShop a single thing all they have to do is fly US Airways. Not even a team of graphic artists could PhotoShop the number of pics I have.

All of us who post pictures and comment on the decline of US Airways as a viable carrier are concerned for many reasons. All of us who have taken the extreme step of posting photos and forwading them to the media want nothing more than to see US Airways succeed.

This is a Proactive and Positive move undertaken by Customers and Employees alike. Something unheard of in the airline business. NO ONE I'm associated with in this endeavor to improve the quality of the customer and employee experience has a hidden agenda of turning US into the next version of Eastern Airlines or Braniff. On the contrary these very actions were taken as a positive and proactive step to ensure that US Airways doesn't fall into the same traps that doomed the two airlines mentioned.

If it takes media exposure to enlighten those who manage US Airways, that's unfortunate. While this action is sure to cause some short term unrest in Tempe, over the long haul we believe that it will help restore US Airways to it's rightful place as a true full service airline that will offer a superior value to the flying public.

Now how can any of that be negatice or whinning??

Point taken. Since I already posted it here's the jest...WN had safety violation yet people would rather fly a dangerous situation than an unclean situation. These pics and comments are working and driving the customers away in droves.

When the customer takes 'cracks' over 'trash' I speak for myself but I think we have a problem. US has problems, as do all carriers(don't let them kid you), but they don't need their own employees to drive customers away.

And HP was just about shut down for mtc problems and had the largest fine levied against them.

Operational problems reared their ugly head throughout the summer. Mechanical problems increased, unfavorable press ensued, and employee stress reached a breaking point. Union issues were becoming more and more common, for the flight attendant contract was still open. Mechanics elected the Teamsters as their representative, and were negotiating their first contract. Dispatchers had just concluded their first contract on April 13.

A well-publicized FAA fine was imposed on the airline in June. The record $5 million fine was imposed over maintenance issues, primarily oversight and changes in recommended procedures. America West admitted no wrongdoing, and half the fine was forgiven after a restructuring of the maintenance oversight procedures. Eventually, this would lead to yet another change in heavy maintenance contractors.

February 17, 2000 would prove to be an omen for the year. Eagle, the automated dispatch system, went down for over five hours. At the time, America West had no backup dispatch system, leading to over 280 cancellations over three days. Passengers were left stranded around the system, boosting the industry-high complaint rate. America West was rapidly becoming known as "America Worst" for its customer service and operational problems.

The relationship with the FAA was poor, leading to further restrictions on growth until the FAA was assured maintenance could handle the extra aircraft. The airline was not in good shape.

America West was literally days from bankruptcy when the Loan Guarantee was approved on January 18, 2002. The process was a long one, but triggered rent reductions on the aircraft fleet, return of 11 aircraft, deferral of deliveries from Airbus, and rent credits from the city of Phoenix. The price was high, with the government obtaining warrants to purchase up to one-third of America West's equity at $3.00 per share. Employees were not required to take pay cuts, but labor costs had to be controlled under the agreement.

America West, what a great history, NOT!

but my suggestion is just ignore this person . and continue your dialog around them

Thanks for the heads up on that, Orioleman. Yeah, I thought it was obvious from the beginning that this yo-yo was a Tempe type posting with the intent to stir up trouble. Agreed that the best way to deal with him/it is to consider the source and ignore it. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if this person was Doogie himself, getting cranked up on a few beers and getting online to set the record straight about what a good job they're doing out there in the desert.

Keep up the good work of making this mess public, folks!

While you do attempt to make some good points, I think it's you that seems to be "blinded". Any person in this world with common sense and a slight knowledge of the airline industy (which this management seems to be lacking) knows what a joke this company has become. It's become a great big America West and so many people like to sit there and say "well they should've kept the America West name to keep everyone from having such high expectations". I'm sorry but that doesn't wash for the simple fact that the same problems that are being experienced now would still be occurring in large part because AWA was (for the most part) an uncomplicated regional carrier that wasn't very well known outside of PHX, LAS, and parts of California. Honestly, the freakin place speaks for itself starting with the QIK Shares debacle, seriously flawed A/C reconfigs, the excuses for not having the proper A/C lined up for China, all the way up to and including the very well publicized stunt that our CEO pulled in PHL last year with the gate situation. The government is on to it, the public is on to it, the media, and heck even the Clampet's are starting to get wise to what's going on around here so don't you even begin to try to shift the blame on to the hard working employees that have kept this titanic afloat for the last umteen (sp?) years.

Call me a test market or a microcosm, but I saw MASSIVE termination in early 2002. And I speak of the monopolizing US Airways. Apparently the less important hard working employees were thrown off the Titanic and some who stayed didn't like the extra workloads. Ramp employees that once made up to $28 an hour had newhires come in at $8 an hour. This was 2000, before 2001!

When you work in a rinky-dink airport you tend to hear things about everything. These forums are just a cherry on a sundae.

I see how employees work and think US has it more together than most. I don't 'shift' the blame on the employees. Just the few rotten apples that are hypocrites and would rather bring the airline into the grave rather than give it a chance to evolve.

These are the employees that make people wanna put their lives in danger at WN rather than flying a trashy and smelly US.

The ramp has never made anywhere near $28 an hour.

Keep posting your lies.
