That may be difficult as they are probably in the Bahamas with Jerry Glass who was last spotted boarding his first class space positive flight DCA-NAS. 😛

BUT WITH PRODUCTIVE WORK RULES..CROSS UTILZATION..ETC.

I.ll give you the fact that thier management is light years better than the pack of idiots that operate U. WN management works with the unions/not gainst them like here

Guess Jerrry did not want to go home to MSP for a white christmas.

All of your US Airways employees who staged the sickout yesterday and today should be terminated unless they were really too ill to come to work. The company should establish a policy of any one calling in sick during a very busy travel time should be required to see a doctor and provide the doctors note to management upon their return to work. If after investigating the sick complaint with the doctor's office, the employee is found to have lied to the company, the employee should be terminated. That way the Union cannot get the employees job back.

dude...they do that now....... wake up...

Actually the company imposed that anyone calling of sick during a storm or holiday had to bring a Dr's note regardless. This was last year amongst the Fleet Service group.

The IAM challenged it and it went to arbitration and the company which all ready has it in the contracts that if they do not believe it is a bonifide illness can ask the employee to bring a Dr's note in.

The arbitrator ruled in favor of the IAM because they company cannot in midstream just change the policy and treat everyone has they are lying. They have to use the exsisting language in the contracts and attendance policies.

Although it angers me to see such stupidity on USAirways employees part and yes all that called off sick should be at least suspended without pay until further notice and then their arress fired. Mr. Lakefield should have been the spokesman on the news, not Amy whoever. Shame on both sides of the issue, but thank you to those who stepped up to the plate and did what you could to get innocent folks, repeat innocent folks where they hoped to be on Christmas.

Planejane if you fired them the majority would get their jobs back and all the back pay.

You simply just can't fire someone without the just cause test passing

How is screwing over the passengers AND your fellow employees help your situation.

It doesn't help the situation but it sticking it to management is a good thing. If then rest of the U.S.Air employees were committed to unionism they would have walked off the airplanes and joined the other employees who called in sick.
By not supporting the employees willing to risk their jobs the management can and will cut your pay and benefits even more.
You have it backwards, the employees that stayed on the job screwed over the employees who took action.

yes its right to stand up for a management screw job.
these guys sit home a make 100 to 500 thousand and these agents go to work for no penison and no health bennies. what goes around come around

Maybe they went to college and achieved advanced degrees. Maybe they worked hard to put themselves in a position to earn those wages.

While its wrong, wrong wrong, they are doing what the corporations are paying them to do. Look around at every airline except SWA, JB, and AirTran. Same script as USAirways except the other LCC's (except UAL) were in better financial shape when this avalanche started after 9/11.

Just make sure you ask Mr. Glass if he wants ketchup with his fries the next time you serve him.

Oh yea lets see:
Colondey, Schofield, Wolf, Gangwal, Siegel, Cohen, Glass, Crellin and the others are worth the money they were paid, NOT!

If they were worth the Millions they were paid, US Airways would not be in its second bankruptcy in 18 months.

Come on down on my 1810 to MIA and we'll chat about that...you a cocktail and me a bottle of water. 😛

I have to admire the agents that have worked right through this week and put up with all that was thrown at them. I dont admire the people that put them in that situation. My hat is truly off to those that showed.
