I really don't understand this talk about scabbing and stealing jobs. Management had to shut down LAS because it was bleeding money. They moved all of you to PHX where today, much of your flying is actually East flying, but it keeps you above minimum fleet count. You are getting as much benefit as anyone out of this merger. I suppose it depends how you look at it, but that is my take on it. If I'm wrong, show me the numbers and show me where the West generated all that flying, ON IT'S OWN, to replace what was lost.

The east agreed to arbitration yet did not honor that agreement when the result didn't match their expectations. Had you honored your agreement and moved on there would be no west pilots on furlough, or on the bottom of the east list behind third listers, nor would there be any west captains downgraded. My guess is that is where "that scab thing" comes into play.

We're both at minimum fleet count, we've had two bases close to your one, and there have been little to no retirements over the last 5 years. What benefit is it that you would like to share?

West is at min fleet count, east is +2. East is replacing narrowbodies with widebodies, thus requiring more pilots. East has 190's and more on order. This might not seem like much but when you consider that the west was growing and the east was on death's door in 2005 it would appear that the east is reaping a benefit off of the west pilots.
 
In the bar at CLT I over heard west boys saying they can't wait to get their hands on and AA 777, wow talk about entitlement!!!

Probably true...it would be East pilots on furlough and East Captains downgraded...for the umteenth time.

Even so, the West carries more pilots per aircraft than the East does because of your contract. We can trade this back and forth all night and never to any resolution.

To give a thorough answere would require more time than I have right now, but I will give a pretty long answere so bear with me. Suffice it to say that you are not going to understand the sentiment as long as you claim "east flying" that is truely not "east flying".

In the simplest terms you are equating domiciles with market share and demographics while the two have nothing to do with each other.

Further, you are totally disregarding the fact that the merger completely changed the bussines plan of both airlines (more so for the east) and saddled the former West with very large cost increases making a night bank out of LAS and red eye feed to PHL and CLT redundant.

On top of that the east has more than doubled the 330 fleet, recieved the 190 fleet that is not in fleet min, taken the ATA 757s, and delivery of how many of the West's orders of 320 types with IAE power? What did the West get? An IOU for some of that flying and a disproportionate furlough total in 2008.

To sum...and in the simplest term...there is no longer east flyng vs. West flying...there is LCC flying...a merger happened...the east and usapa are intentionally taking advantage of seperate ops to steal as much of that flying as they can. Undercutting West pay, intentionally denying West section 6, filing frivoulous LOA93 grievances, filing frivolous lawsuits, seeking West terminations, seeking management terminations, all in an effort to take advantage of a labor disputer to steal jobs. That actually sounds worse than just crossing a picket line and being an accountable scab.

God....will you please stop like a whining little baby. You are pathetic. The way things are the way they are is because your little snap shot in meaningless. We parked a #### load of airplanes due to 911 and parked a bunch more just to get this merger done. But WE KNEW someday it would be over (the downsizing and getting more for less on the East). That day is here. We need to hire because we haven't hired any significant numbers for 20 years. If you don't remember anything remember this. It's not a new company us. You are owed nothing from us. You are down to one base and do 24% of our flying. Use your laser intellect and tell us how powerful you are. Management decides were flying goes. Pure and simple. USAPA has ZERO influence on where flying goes.........Oh lets see....do we add flights to Europe from PHL or PHX....please stop being an insufferable idiot about stealing jobs. YOUR CAREER EXPECTATION CHANGED ON THE DAY OF THE MERGER AS WELL. We are still under sep ops. I would love yto stay that was for a few more years just to illustrate how bad NIC screwed the pooch!!! Even if we do a deal with AMR we will have 300-400 upgrades before the dust settles ....you will have 50. But most of all

Honest to God. Who hired you idiots like move2nowhere. Nicforlorn and clear strange? Was it the ASU brain trust that scraped the bottom of the heap ? Who did the hiring in the Franke years? 19 year old ASU labor bashers?

The entitled Mesa children that HP hired were raised by television sets tuned to Teletubbies, a favorite of Franke. It reminded him of his cadre of "leaders" running HP. There was obviously no adult supervision. Then the ASU children Franke employed took over, and pumped more entitlement into their minds. What is theirs is theirs, what is yours, is theirs.

Piedmont had 2 year captains when I was hired so I'm going to go with that as the standard for the rest of my career. Geez.

No, you knew nothing of the sort. You had the numbers to subjugate the west and the misplaced loyalty to follow Bradford and remain the lowest paid pilots with the help of your so-called union.
