I find find it hard to comprehend how deep the level of disdain and lack of confidence the AMR pilots must have for Horton, if they would rather "roll the dice" with the bankruptcy judge, than try to play ball with AMR management!
There has NEVER been an exit from bankruptcy, by a major airline, where the pilots, did not cut a deal with management , prior to a court imposed contact, NEVER! That say's a lot!
Having said that, I think that the APA is, "getting out of the frying pan, and in to the fire", by getting into bed with "Team Tempe"! In the end, they will "screw" them, just as bad as they have "screwed" all of us!
Believe what you want, but mark my words, we are all going to end up with three pilot groups, with three contracts, with three rates of pay and ONE paint job!
"Dougie" wrote the book on divide and concur, he will somehow, keep the pot stirred and all the pilots fighting each other, all three groups, for as long as possible! We're talking approximately $500,000,00 less in pilot pay, per year! I can't say as I blame him, if I were in his shoes, I would do the same thing, wouldn't you?
This merger is going to happen. As an East guy, the only thing I know for sure is that I will be "screwed", somehow someway, no doubt about it. What you West guys need to understand, is that so will you!
What can any of us do about it? Not much, if anything.
It is what it is.
