Lots of words saying it's not the east's fault - it's the west's (Addington), it's ALPA's (poorly worded TA negotiated by your fellow pilots), it's the Nic (unreasonable of course), it's the company's (cheap bastards), etc. If only everyone would just submit to the east pilots' every whim everything would just be wonderful...for the greedy, backstabbing, unprincipled, untrustworthy easties...

I have never denied a jumpseat in over two decades in the captain seat.

Further, I go out of my way to make it a good experience for east pilots, whether they are jumpseating or deaheading on West metal, and expect nothing less from my east counterparts. Want to know why?

Because we are co-workers, and the last thing we should have to deal with is animosity or intimidation from each other. Unfortunately, there have been east jumpseaters making false accusations against West crews in attempts to get them disciplined.

If you support your "co-workers", you better get a handle on these idiots.


One more thing about jumpseat. What is with all the east checkairmen that have homes in PHX? I have given a ride to 3 east checkairmen in the last 3-4 years that have houses in PHX. A very senior 757 guy who lives in Chandler, a senior 320 checkairman with a place in Fountain Hills, and another 320 guy who lives in North PHX, oh and I think there was a 4th one who lived in Anthem.

If you are indeed in the top 395...I am guessing you could figure out the identity of at least one of these checkairman, and go ask them if they have ever had trouble jumpseating West metal....once they reply, ask them if the West are their "co-workers".

Two of them aren't in the top 500.

I'm just pointing out the #1 reason we don't have a contract, USAPA doesn't want one that includes the Nicolau Award and therefore we have no unity or leverage.

If it gets done it will be APA doing it.

Absent that the first step would be take DOH out of the C&BLs and accept the Nicolau Award.

I got a better idea, absent an American merger (which you don't want), why don't we stay on LOA 93 for another 3 or 4 years while you try to rewrite the seniority list.

I have no proplem staying on LOA93, but that's me. And no, we all know who you are and what you are, your name says it all..

Please tell me you're not that far out of touch with reality. Without a merger, AWA would have most likely (80%) have entered bankruptcy. Without a merger, US would most likely have entered liquidation (99% chance).
