Second, and I don't understand where you east guys get this from, APA doesn't care what list we submit to them. They'll be slotted with whatever we give them so they don't care.

It should be easy for anyone to understand, whether your part of this process or not. If you get slotted behind someone who is older than you, that person will retire before you, and eventually you'll gain that attrition. If your slotted behind someone younger than yourself, you will never gain that slot. It's very simple to understand.

One more thought on the SLI. Nic gave absolutely no weight to the furloughed pilots as well as no consideration towards who the majority was. AMR currently has quite a few pilots on furlough. I don't think they want an SLI based on any similar formula such as the nic list.

If it wasn't an issue, don't you think you'd have been working with Parker to get this done quicker?

What's the latest then, with ALL the other unions on the property? How much "concern" is Mr. Parker showing any of them in this scenario?
I'm afraid you're focused on a single tree and missing the forest completely.

I hope that proves true..but...I see absolutely zero basis from which to assume any such thing. If this merger happens; It's not readily foreseeable now, much less even the least bit clear, even what size operation will result.

It will be as big, if not a bit bigger, than DAL and UAL.

We're not merging to be number 3.

He's not working with the AFA at all and has told them their new contract will come out of this merger as well - just like us.

That will be up to the arbitration panel. And I'm pretty sure you'll see a Nic type list in the end. The APA already expects this.

It's nice to have "faith", but......(Steps back, draws out some "chaw" for scene effects) "Weyall youngstah'...y'all jess' ain't been much around this merger thang befoh'...have ya'? 😉

So just like the pilots the F/a's are going into a merger with a bk carrier that needs to dump 2300 f/a's according to their press releases, but the only f/a's that have furlough protection are the ones at the bk carrier.

You still feeling warm and fuzzy about Dougs statement that there wont be furloughs here?

He's not working with the AFA at all.....

Ummm...and such details provide for you not even the slightest concern?...Interesting...

As Keroseneuser, very correctly asks: "You still feeling warm and fuzzy about Dougs statement that there wont be furloughs here?"

Here ya go. From the Bob Banner of the AFA:

Now that the Town Hall Meetings are completed, here are the main points emphasized by our AFA International leaders at those meetings, for those of you who were unable to attend:

.
1.) The Company is notputting any more money into the US Airways flight attendant contract before merging with American Airlines, reiterated by Doug Parker in the E-line dated May 2, 2012.

2.) Contrary to popular belief, Doug Parker (the Company) does not need a settled joint US Airways flight attendant contract before merging US Airways and American Airlines.

As opposed to the concern USAPA has been causing me these many years?

Not in the slightest.

Let me highlight that a bit: The Company DOES NOT NEED a settled contract before merging US and American. So...ummm....exactly what "protections" can ANYone even imagine necessarily being provided the US employees?

Well, from somebody that has seen more mergers than I care to....I suggest you update your resume. There is a good chance you will need it.

Like east us said, this isn't our first merger, but it appears to be the first one I have seen where the airline being bought is the only one with furlough protection. Looking back on the past mergers that is a very bad thing for us.

USAPA says "your welcome."

Congrats boys!! Your experiment continues to pay you back in dividends.

Ah, how cute...

Indeed...how "cute". ..Speaking of straws to cling to. BoeingBoy: "I come from a generation that experienced Vietnam winding down where one couldn't automatically expect to move from a military cockpit to a civilian cockpit." You never were a military pilot.

"where one couldn't automatically expect to move from a military cockpit to a civilian cockpit." Uh huh.."one" indeed 😉

BoeingBoy: "LOL You have no idea what cockpits I've strappen into." Uh huh again 😉

"Uncle Jim"..."If you have time"..."Can you please tell us some more "stories" about the war?" 😉
