Whew!...while no great Cleary fan myself...I'd thought the "closet communist" remark to be entirely tongue-in-cheek...no longer so sure of that, I'm afraid 😉 First..you're telling someone they "need to stop" posting...and now?..."must be scrutinized? Whew! 😉

Let me guess? = Ex "Serious" alpa? 😉

While previously no great fan of ALPA myself.....after seeing what formed in the vacuum (USAPA under Cleary), I'm pro ALPA now.

....Well...If Parker can make/save a buck...and placate the American unions with the US side as whatever "fodder" is required...Perhaps you should point out to him why it won't work that way. I've no solid, honest guess how all this will turn out...just sayin'....

Already did in Addington.....

also, just saying I do not know how things will turn out....but can opine on why there is a very low probablility they would turn out in some illegal fashion.

Nic is probably one of the TWA guys that got furloughed at AA and then scored a new job at AWA, and now realizes s/he is entitled to be a captain at AA when the merger happens.

Nope...wrong again...I was an AWA 320 captain well prior to the AMR aquisition of TWA.

An aside here. My position put me in a place to make a very interesting judgement. AWA hire a bunch of ex-TWA guys and a bunch of ex-USAir guys in the same timeframes.

While I think the folks AWA hired from both groups are all great pilots....TWA had an exceptional training department...USAir...not so much. Further, I think AWA's aquisition of USAirways and the "best practices doctrine" dragged down the training department at LCC.

All ready being discussed here and has nothing to do with the pilot thread.

I disagree.

If we merge the one thing I hope we keep is the Airbus training department.

That's because you didn't experience the awa training department. The west checklist doubled in size when the east took over training.

OK, keep in mind we're old and can't remember things.

I was not trying to say LCC's training is bad, and I do not know how it would stack up against AMR's.

The observation I made was that pilots trained at TWA had a knack for attention to detail, while working in a new enviroment with new procedures.
