The prior offenses were some time ago. (I think)

I am quite sure that the Board knew of this way before it went public. At this point in the game, the Board would be stupid to release Doug in the midst of a merger.

Let's get over it and resume our OWN lives.

This is the dumbest thread in a long time. You all would be shocked at those that have made the same mistake....and they move on.

We employees should stand behind DP.

I admire him AND the company for being up front.

Up front? Please it was a Don Carty moment. "Oh my God they found out." He kept it quiet, and had the newspaper not reported it, he would have kept it hidden. He should be held to no less the standard than a regular company employee.

I am as much against drunk driving as the next guy, maybe more since I lost a friend to a drunk driver but, .096 vs .08? Sure doesnt sound like a whole hell of a lot difference to me. NY state used to be 1.0 I believe not that long ago.

Do you think they broadcasted it? Absolutely not!!! Do you think they kept it quiet until it WAS in the paper? They sure as hell did!!!

Trust me, I used to do background checks for the employees of US that were going into orientation. And there were MANY things that weren't disclosed....

I swear you could leave the board for a whole week and the SAME five or six LCC haters would still be hammering away. It amazes me when you read the posts the next day and see the wee hour in the morning AM times these people posted and I know some of them are East coast time. Go to bed people and get a life...if this is all you have in your life is hammering your hatred toward LCC, I feel sorry for you. The non aviators on here have to be laughing at the LCC board, not to mention the avaitors from other airlines reading the things that are posted. We worry about powdered creamers, the website, the AB320 overhead, the closet. The things we make a big deal out of. Powdered creamers, US1...I'll give you some Moo-Moo's next time,will that make you happy? The website...must work, last week they sold almost $9 million dollars in one day...working for somebody. The overhead, last time I looked a briefcase doesn't take that much room, put it under your seat. Same people bashing and bashing...their credibility gets old. I wish they would go fly another carrier since they are so unhappy with LCC...that wouldn't be any fun. Couldn't bi**h then. Wal-mart doesn't make everyone happy but as long as they make the majority of the customers happy they will make money. Move on people, TwiceBaked & allegheny36...right on!!

I know when I was hired many years ago you had to have a valid drivers license and over the years I have seen a few of my co-workers fired due to the loss of their drivers license due to a DUI. If the company had no compassion for the front line worker when they were going through this tough time like Doug is now. Why should the BOD show any compassion toward him now. He is lucky he did not kill someone. Someone who would knowingly drink and drive shows poor judgement and in my opinion should step down. He has lost the respect needed to be an effective leader.

I am sure some employees had DUI's. We are not talking about regular employees here. Its about a CEO who should know better. Who is a direct representative of the entire company.

Actually Atlantic I belive it's Kirby. As far as the DUI, I have a question ? If it's 0.8 in Arizona and DP was 0.96 and it used to be 1.0 in New York does anyone know what the limit is in your state ? Would be interesting to see how many states his infraction might actually be legal.
