Mechanics vote

10 years ago, and how long has the IBT been on the property? How long have they been working to bring work back in house? Received two more mailings from the IBT this week.
just give them your vote...they can probably get work back in house.....

I love the latest IBT mailer, consider the facts:

"The outsourcing of America West Airlines (AWA) heavy maintenance took place in 1995."

"Article II-Scope of the current AWA agreement prohibits management from subcontracting maintenance work."

Which is it, if the current agreement prohibits management from subcontracting maintenance work then why are they subcontracting out all of their heavy work. Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth.....

Hmmmm........Docker if you had been paying attention to the conversations you would know the history of the Teamsters at AWA. Here is the time line for you....Bill Franke fires 500 mechanics in 1995.....then the heavy checks are outsourced.....then the teamsters are voted in to represent AWA mechanics. With the current contract no maintenance has been outsourced. No contract = outsourcing. Contract = no outsourcing. 🙂

Hey 700, How's the Snap Back Grievance progressing ?

Hey Mr. 7 how is the "snap back" grievance doing any up date? 🙂

Funny under the ibt contract there is outsourcing.

Don't play on words since April 19, 1996 the ibt has not been able to bring they heavy checks back in-house.

So the ibt contract permits any work outsourced prior to ibt cba to remain outsourced.

So you agreed to outsourcing. Plain and simple.

You do like to "twist" statements Mr. 7. 🙂 How is the "snap back" grievance doing? 🙂

Pending third step.

How is it a twist on words?

It is in your contract, shall I quote the Article, Section and Paragraph?

You and the ibt ratified the CBA that permits HP to outsource and continue to outsource the heavy checks.

Does the truth hurt?

ROFL.....No pain here Mr. 7. Ok.....I will do one of your questions....."show me in the CBA were it says that the company can outsource work done in house, since the ratification of the contract", The IAM CBA specifically states that outsourcing is ok. Does the Teamster contract reflect those words? 🙂

As Gonzo said, Franke fired the mechanics in 1995. The IBT Mechanics contract wasn't effective until October 7th (I think that's the date) so...........no additional work has gone out and what work that was there has stayed PLUS there has been additional in house reliability/mod work done in house over the years.

Merry Christmas to all!!

What work is being Accomplished by Timco at Goodyear, AZ and Macon, GA and at Aeroman in El Salvador if the ibt CBA prevents outsourcing?

Why are there no heavy maintenance hangars for HP if the ibt CBA prevents outsourcing?

. Hope you all make the right one.

If the bottom line is compromised by doing maintenance in house then no union in the world will matter because if it is not outsourced then there will be no business hence no jobs to outsource.

The problem is much deeper than any union can solve, the problem is the corporate America raping of the America workers with the current laws giving the nod. Until and unless laws are changed unions will surely and steadily disappear because they will become totally irrelevant.

Welcome to the brave new world where the person answering your phone call is located on the other side of the planet, where making phones calls requires one to choose the English language, where the planet is shrinking and crushing all but the extremely wealthy and making them even more so.

Not everyone will or can own a business and that is where this administrations helping hand ends, if you don't run a business then you deserve whatever hardships come your way and the laws they write make sure this mandate is carried out.

Funny thing is you struggle your entire life and it's all for not if you can't fathom your final destination, but when you do make that personal discovery, it’s at that point everything else is just vanity, a time killer with the only really important matter of concern to you is showing others what you see until you get to that destiny. It’s pretty simple when really look at it. They have eyes but don’t see.

here ya go gonzo right out of your sacred scope:
2.3 The parties agree that the Company may continue to ( ) contract out work heretofore
customarily or historically contracted out ( ) return equipment parts or assemblies to
the manufacturer or to a manufacturer - approved repair station for repair or
replacement, () contract out work when the Company’s facilities and equipment are
not sufficient, or qualified personnel are not available, or where employees available
do not have the experience and ability to perform the work required,

where'd gonzo go??

So what's your point Mr.7, that you can cut and paste? Is this information secret? No....it is not. Has the Teamsters allowed outsourcing since the contract was ratified? No...it has not. There is not an express lane on the US 60 for the Teamsters, but if it becomes important enough it will be addressed. The outsourcing will be addressed in it's own due time. At this point there are "other fish to fry". Do you like white or yellow corn meal coating or is flour well enough for you Mr. 7? 🙂

Andy, hello are you there? I need help!

Has the Teamsters allowed outsourcing since the contract was ratified? No...it has not.

Gee what do you call Timco and Aeroman overhauling HP planes everyday?

I call it allowing outsourcing.

Yes the ibt has allowed and continues to allow outsourcing.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Ahhh.....yes.....the type of response I have come to expect 🙂
looks to me after perusing your sacred scope language that doug could stick it where the sun don't shine real quick.
see you in court?

"well we'd really like to bring it back in house but now Doug hired Jerry Glass and actually we expect to lose more work"
