Merger with US and AMT Senority

as for a merger, asmuch as most US/AA employees dont want, I would not be shocked if the two airlines come together. As for merging groups I would think given that there are 2 different unions there would have to be an election runoff. big question would be what union would win

Another great Titanic quote....

If you want to spend your time worrying about it, go ahead. You might as well start worrying about the end of the world in December, because I think they have about the same chance of happening.

USAir and AA merger is not going to happen. We have enough real problems to worry about.
I hope you are right, but the meeting between Bates, Parker and US leadership says otherwise, lets work together to stop this!!!

How can you be so against something that you have not even seen details on?

FEAR, I presume?

Not fear, you guys don't have the knowledge we do on mergers this will be number SIX they are not good do you see what is happening over at US, I don't think you would want that, you have a great airline, America West management will destroy that guarantied. I wish you guys and gals the best.

But the Mayans have been predicting the merger.....

<_< --------Oh I wouldn't go as far as saying that mate! These dingo's can get down right nasty when it comes to combining work groups! I'd be watching my own tail feathers if I were you!

My goodness "mate", let it go. You're retired IIRC. 🙄

There is no law or rule against stapling. The only quirk is that now you have to agree to be stapled. The unions can agree to anything they want. If they don't agree, then they can go to arbitration to get what they think would be better. I guess people forget that Southwest tried to staple the Frontier pilots. Southwest said if you say no, we walk. They said no and Southwest walked. Dumb decision if you ask me, because Frontier has continued the spiral downward ever since. I guess a job at a growing company that has never furloughed and with a large pay raise wasn't enough for them! None of the current Frontier pilots are ever going to be able to recoup the wages the lost by not going to Southwest. Back to topic, Stapling has not gone away, it is still available, just with a few tweaks. Plus, who says an arbitrator won't/can't decide that stapling is appropriate? Not the law. MB doesn't preclude that outcome, just makes it a little more unlikely.
