That is kind of ironic. The HP HQ is built on the site of the old rez building which used to be a outside strip mall.

actually it was supposed to be a condo project but failed, and ended up being as a business use. It never was a shopping center.

If you go to this site http://www.cactuswings.com/hp/facilities.html there are some good pictures of PHX facilities. HQ is the first picture. The tower sits on the northern edge of the orginal property. The part of the orginal area is now surface parking. Tempe Beach Park is across the street from the tower, and the north side offices have a view of Tempe Town Lake, the Papago Buttes, and to some extent, Camelback Mountain.
