Newark Merger Integration Test City

I stand corrected, how in the world could fleet ratify a piece of crap like that?

MCO---CO

SAN, SNA, BUR, ONT, SJC, OAK, PSX, SLC, ABQ, DEN, OMA, ELP, IAH, as well as PHX and LAS are HP employees.

Not sure of BOI, MCI, MKE, STL, CLE, BDL and MIA.

MCI, MKE, STL, MIA are HP agents, don't know about ramp.
There are a few cities w/HP upstairs, and contract downstairs.
CLE I can't picture, nor BOI or BDL.

All Canada cities are contracted.
After the merger I understand it will switch over to Air Canada, and we will reciprocate for them here.

Wouldn't LAX have been a logical test city, considering the ticket counter, offices, baggage claims and bag offices are already adjacent, and gate 4B is shared between them.

Have been told that AC will move next to the US counter in TPA before the end of the year and the ramp will be handled by US. AC will still have their own counter people. The guys were at the counter with the blueprints last week.

How many daily dept does US have from TPA?
I assume that whichever of the two has the larger operation in a field station, would be the 'surviving' operation, absorbing the smaller group.
Sounds like its US in TPA.

I would have also thought that LAX might have been a good spot for the Test, but maybe the HP Management has something up their sleeve they dont want SWA to see?

And 700, we cant figure out how the FSA contract got in either. Our Station had ZERO yes votes! Guess we must thank the Hubs and Large Cities.

It’s my understanding in the not-so-distant future US Airways will move its SFO gates and operations to terminal “Bâ€￾ to coincide with America West and Air Canada.

In general, that'll be the case.

However, it'll be different some places because US can easily get out of its airport leases due to the bankruptcy.

Well, I believe we only have 3 or 4 depending on the season, so most likely TPA will go to the US station.

US will have 19 flights next month and tentatively 20 in Oct, but I dont think thats been finalized yet.
AC has 1 flight a day now and in the winter they go to 2 a day with (in the past) more on the weekend.
HP currently has 3 flights a day. CO currently handles HP (contracted on the ramp) with no HP agents. They are on a month to month right now with a 60 day out clause. So far, the CO people havent been told (the agents at least) that notice has been given.

tadjr,

When I worked in TPA many years ago, AC used to run 747s and 767s into TPA, even an L1011 on occasion, what type of AC are they using now?

They are using Airbus 319/320/321 depending on season and day of week.

STL- I think it's "mainline express."

US Airways loves it's divisions and subsidiaries. Ground handling could be done by Mainline, Mainline Express (mainline but express contracts), MidAtlantic (a division of the mainline handling only the E170s, which is the crew version of mainline express- mainline folks, express contracts), PSA (a subsidiary), Piedmont (a different subsidiary; a third subsidiary- Allegheny; was just recently absorbed into Piedmont) or it could be contracted. US keeps each of these customer service and ramp groups seperate with different contracts. Really.

US Airways likes to keep things as complicated, redundant, and bizarre as possible. Next ask how many Express carriers there are or how many different fleet types US operated four years ago if you want to hear more nonsense. 🙄
