NMB Ingores APFA

It could have been structured a lot better. Less loss to the f/as if credit for all concessions were properly calculated. And yes, I remember it well. My contribution was 100%.
Just once I' like to see you up against AA management .......it's just that easy, right??

NEVER said it was easy. Nothing worth its salt is easy. I would have loved a try though... but not under the current structure of the APFA. I would have liked to be in the "backroom" doing the planning..lol

You have spent plenty of time in the "backroom" organizing coalitions to cross the picket line for AA. This will forever be your legacy..... Non of us APFA members will ever take your posts genuinely because of that!

YOU, can always do it "better and different." Things are rough at current here, but we will hold our own.

This is no longer just a fight against AA and APFA. As the rich get richer and the middle class get poorer, something gonna give!

Delta would be more than happy to pay the NW FA's what DL FA's make.....................as soon as the union decide to stop their b!tchin' and moanin', take their defeat on their feet instead of their knees and leave the premises. They've been voted down more than once at DL..........................can't they take a hint ?

I guess until then, DL will pay them what the NW FA's union negotiated for , in their contract !

Yeah, well when DL decides to give you a pay cut tomorrow to offset the losses from Japan, don't B and Moan about it. They can change the pay/work rules on a daily basis if they want. You may be working a lower wages sooner than you think without a Union and a contract.

With no disrespect but this management team would chew you up and spit you out....... Especially knowing you're not a nAAtive ....

Not a chance..would be a challenge. Like I said, I do pretty well against the State of Missouri, Department of Health and Senior Services, and Department of Social Services. I know I would do better than...or at least would be a strong contributor. But then I also like participatory mangt. agreements.

Well then, you should have stuck around and tried to contribute like the rest of us.... . Oh sorry.... You don't serve reserve or fly any other crew position than #1...... Perhaps the State of MO forums will suit your more than here!

Not to mention you're the face behind that worthless Flight Attendant Coalition is MO.

Having the power to do something and using doing it are usually mutually exclusive.

I did stay around and contribute...my contribution was 100%. Why is flying #1 a "bad" thing. Most of the people I know don't like the position. I loved working f/c by myself. I even learned to work a pretty good f/c galley. (Our #1s didn't work 1st class. We worked the cart in the main cabin so that we could break off and assist in f/c or "put out fires" prn) I was forced to retire because of insurance. After Cobra ran out (which I paid close to $800 a month to "enjoy), my quote for private insurance was $4500 a month(with a $2500 deductible). That was because of a child with pre-existings. I was also told by the APFA that my chance of getting a hardship transfer into STL was slim to none. That was because the prior Base Chair was a former IAM rep and my disdain for the IAM is well noted. When I took it to TH-B, she would not intervene. I would much rather "fight" the company than a vindictive union. The "rules" you have to live with are very subjective and written to encourage selective interpretation. You might be surprised at my level of contribution to the former TWA f/as.

I'm glad to see this. A strike is the last thing any of us need anyway. What we need are better leaders who will get the job of getting us a new contract done. God knows we don't have those in TWU, who sealed a few deals and then changed their mind. APFA isn't much better in my opinion. They are not going to get a huge raise, so it is time to settle for a deal that works for everyone!

Go ahead frontline, through in the towel! It'll be another ten years before you see a raise in pay,if than!!!!

It seems like no one really care anymore. No one even mentions negotiations on the plane.

I care. I care very much. The problem is that the whole negotiation process has been stalled and at a complete standstill for so long, there's nothing to discuss. The union hasn't thrown out any crumbs of information to us. The company hasn't even blessed us recently with any of their upbeat propaganda.

I'll discuss one thing here and now: retro pay is a MUST for any contract to be approved by me. Skip the signing bonus and pay me restitution for the years of dragged out, stalled negotiations.

I completely agree. What is there to discuss? Only frustration? I think people are just steeped in reality of the economy and the companies precarious situation. My thought now is that we are going to have to look to the pilots. Historically they have always led the tone of negotiations and this is proving to be true in this round. They have meetings scheduled with the company through June. We will have to wait and see the outcome from them. My prediction is that we will not have a contract till the end of the summer 2012. There I said it.
