Non Reving Priority on USAirways

At this point, who the heck cares? You can't get on anything anyway.

Hey, while we're at it, screw ALL senority..just FCFS on flying trips, vacation, etc.schedules. Who cares about loyalty. Let some 24 year old twink with 6 months or 2 years have anything and everything you want. SCREW LOYALTY!! 😱

And BTW, its funny how it is whinny when an Eastie complains but somehow appropriate when a Westie complains. HYPOCRITES!!!

Speaking as an east flight attendant, here is some food for though. Many but not thousands..LOL live on the west coast and commute to the east for work. If it were to go FCFS and many started to find if hard to commute to work it could force many of the senior workers to take positions in PHX when it has openings. With SOOOOO many of US east commuting due to displacements etc. be carefull what you wish for. True we will all live with the outcome but seniority seems to not be fair for the more junior person. There isn't much available for the loyal senior worker. Does the new US really want loyal senior folks. I'm thinking that would be a big NO. I can honestly see both sides but the seniority system seems to be more cut and dry. The east seniority system needs overhauled anyway. Senior people showing up at the last minute when you have sat around all afternoon trying to get on is BS too. Now I'm talking minutes before departure. It happens and is not right. Also don't assume your name transfers to the next flight if you don't get on. Many of the new agents don't know how or just don't do it. It has happened to me 3 times now in as many weeks.

Look for the IF in that statement smart guy  Dude you don't know where you're from  You claim to be from farther west but are you just another transplant from the east coast  In the end it doen't matter it's the attitude that's important B)
Yes, it's definitely the attitude that's important 😉
Not a transplant from the east...from farther west than the islands. If I non-rev, twelve hours will not be enough for me to check-in and connect to the east coast.

Usually, this is not done on purpose. No one decides at quarter 'til to go somewhere. It's because their flight may be running late getting in and they had to run from another concourse.

What a difference a bankruptcy auction would have made!!

Dude, you're so far west, you're east 😀

America West, excuse me, USAirways, whatever the heck we are these days, never wanted the senior people. I would bet there is another early retirement program headed our way. Cheaper to do things without all the senior folks. I imagine a lot of things are going to go "the east way" but I really think that FCFS is going to be the way they do non-rev travel.

Oddly enough, a couple of days ago the parents and children of an active mainline employee traveling without the employee were boarded on my flight as S3 while a commuting active WO pilot was boarded (also S3) after them. I was under the impression with the new boarding priority that the employee must travel with family in order to be S3. Does the computer automatically assign boarding order? In addition, I've seen agents list WO active employees as S5 (as an affiliate employee). How do you politely correct the situation in the fewest words without risking suspension of your travel privileges?

Tell them! This happened to me when I was MDA. I had an agent SWITCH my boarding code from S3 to S5. I asked him to pull it up.

S3
Mainline (including MDA)
Piedmont
PSA

I wouldnt have gotten on the flight because he re-listed me thinking I was an affiliate. I always used to ask because you can never be sure and it could mean not getting home.

how in god's good name is seniority better? if you are a us/america west employee and have been sitting there for four or five flights for maybe 8 hours or so trying to get home or to base ..and have not gotten on any...because someone senior has taken the last seat on every single flight before. how is that better? it should go by check in....but on the other hand if you are an employee you should go before buddy passes or registered guests. reguardless of when they checked in. i am not aware of policy if it is already like that then disreguard!

Guess you should have planned your trip better.
