Black Magic,
Your post is obviously opinionated and not 100% factual. The National Labor Relations Board does not oversee, or have jurisdiction over unions within the airline industry. Although the IAM did in fact endorse the Obama re election campaign the educational material distributed had the sole intent to educate the membership on issues pertaining to the choice between the candidates based on facts. As I have stated in previous posts, members' dues monies do not fund the political arm of the IAM. The MNPL (Machinists Non-Partisan Political League), which is responsible for the distribution of political education materials and lobbying for members' interests on Capital Hill, is funded soley by voluntary membership contributions. Members dues monies do not fund the MNPL. Members dues monies are divided between the Grand Lodge, the District and the Local. When you file for "Dues Objector" status you are refunded the portion of your dues money that would go to your local. Thats It! When you speak of dues money being divided between representative, lobbying, campaigns and political portions this is simply not the case. Your disdainful opinion on the results of the election is evident. Your post is factually incorrect on a number of issues and potentially misleading to the members. For the sake of the betterment of the membership please cease and desist these misleading and meritless posts.
