Oh Where Oh Where Has The Iam Gone ?

IAM leaders visited all the mechanic and related locals and workplaces to drum up support to take on the company in more then just a legal battle, and the members did not have the fortitude to do that.

Buddy you are full of S***!!!!!!! In my hangar we had a visit from the local president and were told to keep working 110% that a slow down would be more ammo for the company when they went before the Judge. So don't say the members did not have the fortitude. In my opinion along with many others I believe it was just poor leadership!!! You my friend are brainwashed by the IAM!!! We did not even take a strike vote in a timely manor!!! The company just laughed at the IAM and is still doing the same!!!

You must be in PIT, that did not happen in CLT.

You don't take a strike vote in a major dispute.

And the membership are the ones who bombarded the company and the union stating they were "confused" and wanted to vote again.

The union is only as strong as its membership and this membership is weak, and you wonder why the company screwed you over.

Again, awhile all this Am.west sellout talk is going on , I ask where is the iam , quiet as a church mouse . maybe they are prepairing to rebuild another concession stand or working on opening up a giant walmart

Guess you don't read the papers, read this board much or search the web huh?

US Airways Update
It has been widely reported today in the press that US Airways may be discussing a merger or alliance with America West Airlines. At this point, it is unclear what, if anything may come from these talks and it is premature to speculate how a merger between US Airways and any airline may impact Machinists Union members.

Nevertheless, the IAM is prepared to defend our Mechanic & Related and Stores members’ seniority and welfare in the event of a merger between US Airways and any other carrier. IAM members at US Airways have made immense sacrifices to keep this airline aloft, and we will fight to ensure your interests are not discarded in any merger or alliance talks.

Representatives from the Grand Lodge and Districts 141 and 142 are closely monitoring the situation and will report back to the membership as events unfold.

Thank you for your continued solidarity and support.

Sincerely and fraternally,
William O’Driscoll
President and Directing General Chairman
District 142

S.R. (Randy) Canale
President & Directing General Chairman
IAM District 141

Bombarded the company?? Why do you think there is so many computers at the local in clt. That was for all the yes voters to get on their email computer tree and beg the iam and company for a revote. You know deep down it was WRONG! There is no proof of a massive email and phone campaign from NO voters begging for a revote. Its all heresay. 🙁 That move by the iam was the end of any respect it would ever get from usair management. They still laugh about it weekly in there meetings. Those iam guys are suckers!!! Ha HA Ha!! You forget the iam first said the company was making us revote and then 1 week later they stated they AGREED to revote. They LIED for a whole week, you know it is true. But you'll defend them to the end because of your loyalty for your appointed iam position, which by the way I don't see any improvement. Their never had to be a revote. There never should of been a revote. It was a major insult to state we were confused. Most knew the consequences and many of the older guys who have been down this road said they would be back again and again. And look at us now the industry leaders in patheticness!! It is unforgivable FOREVER AND EVER!!

The Local Computers in Charlotte were not used to contact the company.

Why don't you contact Al Hemenway or Glass, they can show you the e-mails and faxes they got from the members who were "confused".

The company was going to hold its own vote, per Dave Siegel, that is when the International stepped in and took control and said there would be a revote conducted by the IAM instead of the company.

And if the membership was so solid on voting no, why did the it pass the second time?

And that is over 2 1/2 years ago, how long are you going to whine and complain about it?

What have you done in 2 1/2 years to make things better or to effect change?

And like I said, I am work 40 hours a week for US, not the IAM.

But hey, don't let the facts get in your way.

Just admit the iam LIED for a week. They took control allright. That is PATHETIC. They could of and should of stood by the vote like roach said he would do. But remember its big business for the iam and no revote would of been a possible large hit in the payroll. I would bet you several thousands of dollars we will never ever see any emails. All heresay. You believe glass and hemingway?? Did you see them?? Its all BS. It doesn't matter if it was 2 weeks ago it was wrong and it will be wrong and unforgiven FOREVER. It passed the second time because for 10 days the company and union reps in clt scared all the weak ones. The old timer in the grievance committee was telling utility you better vote yes or your job is gone. Guess what, their job is gone but he still has time to read his newspaper everyday on union time!! And guess what I have the right to complain, I'm still paying full dues to the lapdog weak link union that threw our vote away!! I have better things to do on a great staurday than bicker with a blind Mo@#$n like yourself. Your probably on the iam payroll posting on this website. I know for a fact you posted here from the local lodge in clt while on lost time once. That is fact that you will once again deny. 😛

Like I said, don't let the facts get in your way, I work at US 5 days a week, 40 hours a week, not the IAM, my paycheck says US Airways on it, not IAM.

Glad to see you have to insult and attack instead of answering any questions poised to you with factual information or totally ignoring the question.

What have you done to make things better in the 2 1/2 years since the second vote?

If it is such a big item to you, why have you not done anything about it?

You can only complain if you get involved, and it is obvious you are not.

And there are double the amount of mechanics then utility back in 2002 so in actuality the mechanics had control of the vote if they all voted no and all the utility voted yes, the No's would have it.

Funny thing was it was on this very board.

Guess it is easier to whine and complain then to seek out the information that is easily provided for you.

Oh he's uptight. 😀 He knows in his heart that the iam started the downfall by throwing away our first NO vote. He even admitted on this board in the past that it was not right. I would pull up his quote but I'm not addicted to this keyboard like our UPTIGHT iam lackey is. get a life 700, this website is controlling you, break free and give it up, it may all be over soon enough, hey but maybe you can fall back on your other job!! 😉

This web site is not controlling me, I just enjoy showing posters like you when you are wrong. And to show how you can't accept personal responsibility for your actions, it is easier to blame others and stay on the sidelines and whine and complain instead actually getting involved and giving up some of your own time to make things better and effect change and have control over your destiny.

And I guess your word means nothing huh?
