On time performance with no carry on bags

The amount of bags do NOT determine the amount of f/a's. The FAA determines the minimal amount of f/a's it takes to deplane in 90 seconds...in an emergency. DUHHHHH.

When the flight no longer exists, how many people do you need to egress the aircraft in 90 seconds?

Zero. DUHHHHHH.

Bottom line before this happened is that the baggage MOST bring on is OUT OF CONTROL. It needs to be a standard "one bag" policy and be done with it. The airline and passengers alike want on time performance. I being totally honest can't even count how many times we have closed the door 10-15 minutes late due to no bag room. Don't let me EVEN get on the PHL-BOS crowd. I have had flights on the 757 with about 75+ open seats and had to check bags. Now that's ridiculous. I understand the need for business travelers to have their rollerboard being on the go but to have a rolling laptop bag that cannot fit under ANY of our a/c seats is not acceptable. I blame the company for letting it get this far. Something needs to be standardized. I feel the ban on the liquids will be lifted eventually but the bag issue truly needs to be addressed.

But if we do that...they may start taking the trains!

LOL...I have heard that before from passengers and my reply is that while we are happy to have you if you feel that your trip from PHL to BOS or PHL to SAN will be nicer on the train I would by all means take the train. We don't want anyone to feel like they HAVE to be here. Trains don't have the problem we do with airplanes for the fact that most people FLY not TRAIN it all over the country. Oh yeah, the train...soda $1.65 and no pillow, blanket or free anything. Maybe we can take about 3 rows of seats out of our a/c and make a huge closet for bags. LOL.... I say DOWN with the bags. Seen some of the crew bags lately? I know we are allowed due to our jobs to carry what we need with no limit but c'mon. I did transatlantic MANY times and see NOOOOOO need to have all those damn bags. Oh that ugly green and blue Paris bag. Yeah, Yeah, we all know your INT'L. 🙄 I had one trying to put her crap under the seat on the 757 where the c sits. I set her straight right quick.

Well I just can't work without my Harrod's Bag!

Stop it...you carry that? Ok, ok... I did carry my Marks & Spencer bag for a while there. But it was NEVER totally full with my cabin cruisers sticking out of the top. LOL

I hear that they will be putting on trailer hitches so that they can pull a trailer for all the extra baggage. And then Vacations can offer Campfire Packages!
