PHX-Europe & 767-200 Range

LH ran A340 to PHX, I don't recall a 767 or Condor in town.

LTU began with a MD-11 to PHX, then changed to 767 all flying to DUS.

LH said they had great loads, but the the yield wasn't great enough to justify the aircraft usage, but they are still looking at re-entering.

BA started PHX-LGW with a DC-10 which then went to SAN, replaced it with a 777, then later replaced it with a 747-400. Later, they dropped the leg to SAN and made the flight just to PHX using a 747-400 to LHR.

As for PHX being full of old people?

Census data

16-24 15.2%

the second time LH came to phx they started with the a340, then they wetleased and dropped it down to a 767 then they stopped, again,... with the code share it was hard to get people over to t2 and t3 for connections, also most could connect through other gateways on lh and connect with codeshare to get to the same place.. kinda duplicating routes. now with US/HP connections to the west, namely anc and hnl etc... it might be different.

as for BA, they never had dc10, they started 747 as you stated, went to san then back. they brought in 777 service at 7x a week, then they brought back 747 as a 6x a week so they could have the same seats aweek and use 777 on other routes

BA certainly did fly the DC10 to PHX, I remember seeing the planes, perhaps this pic will refresh your memory.

BA DC10 PHX

You are right on the LH 767 though, I can't remember those ones, I'm getting old...

Here is the link to the LH B767 PHX Ops from 2003.

Sorry my mistake, LH previously operated 3 B767-300s. The FRA-PHX-FRA as actualy an LH B767 and not Condor, as I orginally posted.

There are 7 ETOPS 757's that are almost done (if not already done) being converted for transatlantic ops with a true Envoy section up front (3 rows). They have the seats that were removed from rows 6-7 of the 9 A330s. No in-seat video, but the pax will get the portable players.

The 767 Envoy upgrades have been discussed here and on flyertalk.com many, many times, Delta777. With your frequenting this board, surely you've seen at least one snippet. In a nutshell, Lie-flat seats to be installed in the 762's at the end of the year.

Portable players in Envoy, huh? A little cheesy if you ask me, but none the less. Will all the seats be lie-flat seats, or just 3 or 4 like in the A330-300's? I would think LCC would want to promote this little known fact as no U.S. carriers have true lie-flat business seats yet.

Maxjet and Eos have the portable players and there is NOTHING cheesey about them. I think the company doing this half a$$ed face lift is tacky if anything. Take the plane out of service and do the overheads, seats, carpets etc and put the bird back in service. They make things difficult. I know, I know some things just can't happen that way. Well, MAKE them happen. Another summer of the P!ss smelling 767's with ugly old overheads. Uggggg It's funny to do a leg on the 767 during your 75 trip and watch some of the f/a's prance up and down the aisles. They feel like the have "just arrived" and are at a big carrier. That plane while nice is so damn tacky and old.
