The latest posted west fantasy apparently is that UAL pilots somehow magically share their estimations of where the west folks should be placed on any combined list, that USAPA will instantly evaporate, and Alpoid "justice" will immediately reign supreme. Words simply fail me on all counts there...No matter. Once more; we'll get to eventually see what the future actually holds for any/all in due time.

East, you sound defensive. Does this potential outcome upset you?

How many 330's does US Airways have? Let 767jetz answer this please. I suggest what you may in your fantasies consider it eligible to be called a handful, is much larger than what you experience on a daily basis.

Your kidding right? You are going to brag about 9 A330's?!?! 9? C'mon, you are making yourself look like a fool... But hey don't let me stop you!

Ummm... What happened to Majority Rules??? Let's see... AAA pilots = 3000. UA pilots = 8000. AWA pilots = 1800.

I'd say 9800 trumps 3000 by a 3.27 to 1 margin. Any questions?

In this hypothetical scenario, the combined company (that being called United Airlines, btw) will have ALPA representing the pilots, relative seniority based on the Nicolau award, and fences and restrictions that protects everyone's flying and effectively contains US pilots to their narrowbodied airplanes and handful of 330's, until the last East pilot retires. And just for your further information, most UA pilots DO share the West's estimations of where folks should be placed on a combined list.

No problem really..given that you've repeatedly stated, as supposed fact, that UAL will NEVER merge with US in any case, so this can/could never actually happen then. For me? I fret over little untill it happens, and then deal with it as appropriately as possible.

"And just for your further information, most UA pilots DO share the West's estimations of where folks should be placed on a combined list." Swell..So..ummm..exactly where should/would the most senior capt at AWA be placed? More importantly; Where should any/all be placed in relation to yourself? 😉 No tap dancing please..We've already "got" the initial bit about "and effectively contains US pilots to their narrowbodied airplanes and handful of 330's,"

There's even your very most west-sympathetic "Alpo-Brothers" at UAL's initial thinking there west folks  Any questions kids? 🙄

Once more, for the most mentally impaired and fantasy ridden's benefit. The Alpoid shill perspective = "DO share the West's estimations of where folks should be placed on a combined list." Said "combined" list actually meaning; "and effectively contains US pilots to their narrowbodied airplanes and handful of 330's," Umm..and that'd be for starters and openers only kiddies...unless of course, you're west pilots ..in which case I'm sure you'd no doubt have very special treatment....yep....no doubt at all.

"effectively contains US pilots to their narrowbodied airplanes and handful of 330's," Umm..is it just me?..or do others note the Alpoid hypocrisy inherent therein? Where went the West's "No fences" position? I mean, c'mon; this fellow's one of your greatest "Alpo Brothers", most vocal and firmest supporters over the last year..Surely..he can't actually mean never allowing you access to any UAL flying......This all fully serves for some fine chuckles 😉

"until the last East pilot retires." Ummm..OK..Sigh: Within this mythical UAL/Alpoid/All's Nic and Gloriously East-West combined Paradise list...What actually constitutes any "East pilot" within your perverse paradigm?..And..umm..when DOES "The last east pilot" actually retire? Talk about clueless BS in abundance 😉

We'll see what the actual future holds..as is always the case in life.

Here's an interesting thought-

UA-US merge in some form, UA pilots join usapa, take control due to superior numbers (UA/AWA hold the majority) and enact the Nicholau award.

Talk about tyranny of the majority.

Tell me... Why would a United pilot let a west pilot that was hired in 98 fly Capt on a 767.

I predict the opposite. With UA in the majority they well never let the unjust Nic award be implemented. If the Nic award is ALPA's standard policy for seniority then UA will never let it happen. ALPA will also be decertified at UA.

I think the west is in for a big wakeup in reality if there is a US/UA merger.

FYI:

This is the USAPA phone update for Thursday, April 24th, 2008

As a reminder, for those with ALPA insurance, the dedicated portal for insurance transfer will be up on the USAPA web site as soon as it's completed by the providers; this work is going on now and we are told the portal should be up shortly. The transfer process will be simple, essentially entailing the downloading of forms, filling them out and faxing or mailing them in along with your latest insurance invoice or certificate of insurance.

The USAPA web site has been split into two sections, public and Members Only. Very shortly the Members Only section will be secured. If you did not receive the username/password by email, call the USAPA office at 877-678-7272 x745.

We have three West Liaison positions open (Grievance, Safety and Contract Support). Interested parties should go to the Members Only section of the USAirlinePilots.org web site for more information.

The FAA has approved a 120 day ASAP MOU in partnership with US Airway and USAPA. The short duration of the program was agreed upon to facilitate a transition period that will allow time for all parties to deliberate over the proposed changes to the program by USAPA. Recall that you can now submit ASAP reports online using SRS at www.usair-safety.com. Pilots are reminded that the BEST, undiluted protections they can obtain after an incident is by filling out a NASA report.

Pilots are also. reminded to submit their USAPA membership and Dues Check-off forms as soon as possible. Forms are available on the USAPA web site.

A new day dawned on the 17th for the US Airways pilots, and pilot involvement is the final piece of the puzzle. We urge all pilots to get to know their Reps, and give them your thoughts. Contact information can be found in the Committee section of the USAirlinePilots.org web site.

Thank you for calling.
