Planners or Schedulers Tulsa Maintenance Base

Yes Buck, Hangar 3 & 4 has hired quite a few planners/schedulers for the 737s coming in.
I think they wont become union until the jcba.
From what I heard they make decent wages considering they aren't required A&PS. Of course so do TWU parking lot painters.

After my post, I received information about the hiring of approximately 20 new planners being hired in the Turbine Building.

So being Title 1 , for those working adjacent to the aircraft docs and have A&P's, will they get license pay? Are these decent wages near those that a A&P Mechanics makes?

Is this just another socialist move to bring the value of the mechanic down?

Buck, the Association wants planners/schedulers in the M&R group like they currently are in the IAM contract. 700 posted the IAM contract on these forums somewhere. If I remember right it is on the 514 website. Apologies as I don't have the hyperlink. Hope this helps

I know a planner with 15 years in and makes just over $40,000......Not highly paid imho.
That brings the question, where will these people lay in Title 1?

One of the vice presidents at 514 said the iam is already at the base. He didn't go into detail about it other than to grumble about the fact that they were here and he wasn't happy about it.

Planners at PMUS have their own seniority list.

The CBA is on district 142 web page and the usaamerger web page.

This is quite interesting because at AA line stations, they have hired Maintenance Supervisors to be planners.....

Well I know at US if you are a maintenance supervisors have to have their A&P.
Yes, but at LAA planners were staff people, not mechanics or supervisors with A&P's....But they recently started replacing them with Maintenance supervisors....What is interesting is that at LUS they are union......So what is the deal?  Will they be union at the bases and management at the line?

Planners were accredited in 99 or shortly after, I will post the decision later if I can find it.

If you are a line supervisor you have to have your licences to have the ability to sign off the logbook.

I don't think you are understanding what the point of this is.....BigMac and Buck posted that they are hiring planners in TUL.....Then we hear that at LUS, the planners are UNION.. They are NOT union at LAA. They never have been....They used to be staff level. NOW they are hiring Maintenance Supervisors to be PLANNERS..... Again I ask, what is going on? UNION PLANNERS AT LUS.......MANAGEMENT PLANNERS AT LAA...Is this going to be one of those issues in the contract proposals....That is what I am wondering.

It doesn't look they are trying to align the operations in this category.
