Okay, Sorry to post this here.

Is there a user manual or some type of extensive knowledge document on the use of QIK?

Yes, if you're an east CSA....standby, we're going to start training next month... 😉

LOL, those days it's safest to go with "Whatever you say, dear!"......

*LAUGH* I thank you for the laughs. I didn't think there was something of the sort, but I was just wondering. Call me a sponge.

Already looking for an after retirement job? LOL. My dad retired and my mom went back to work. Keeps things sane at home that way... 😉

Funny you should mention that - the closer I get to retirement the more the missus talks about going back to work.....

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, BTW.

The most current plan (as of this afternoon Eastcoast time) is for all CSA and CSS to attend a 3 day training class in a bunch of cities. Classes will run 2 3day classes per week starting the middle of October and running thru the end of the year. Stations are scheduled to start sending people after they undergo the infrastructure replacement program. The new computers will have both SABREView (access to native SABRE) and QIK available and easily switchable. Theory being that an agent will work in SABREView until trained and then use QIK after that. The fun just continues.

Cant I just continue in Sabre even though I've already been trained? 😛h34r:
If not, just call the help desk, they'll handle it for you. 🙄

QIK - Everytime we on the US side try to process something in Qik - the HP system ....we end up calling HP for some crazy work round...does nothing work without glitches in the HP system? It is beyond frustrating.

Windows XP Pro is the operating system behind the QIK application. Frustrations should be expected and not a surprise.

Luckily when I staarted, we were going away from Sabre. I've never touched Sabre, and I use QIK to do many of the functions of my job. I wish I knew more, as I get the "you'll have to learn that on your own" speel.

I'm normally in IT, and it's frustrating to use a program not to it's potential. (Or know what it's potential is.) Not that I will utilize all of it, but I'm sure if I knew more, I'd be able to do 1/2 the stuff I place calls to QM on my own. Not the stuff that requires their approval, but stuff like.. well.. stuff that I should be doing! 😀
