Bourne and the IBT are going to a hold a debate. However they didn't have the intestinal fortitude to formally invite the IAM. Their notification was a propaganda drop in a breakroom. What is there to debate? Nothing, we are worlds apart. The employees are going to make a choice. If a democratic union is wanted by the masses the IAM will win. If a superior contract is wanted by the masses, the IAM will win. If job protection is wanted by the masses the IAM will win. If the masses want dignity and respect, the IAM will win. The Teamster aviation department is loaded with rejects from other unions that were passed over or booted to the street by its members. The Teamster Agreement show the lackies for what they truly are. If you want a company sponsored union, by all means vote for bourne and the Teamsters.

Voting IAM will secure your future. Voting IBT will be your downfall. An independant comparison between the contracts was done, and the teamsters barely passed as a contract, with a D+. But thats what happens when you let a pilot negotiate a fleet contract. NO SCOPE = NO HOPE.

Just goes to show the ibt is a "company sponsored union". Hoffa is using former Chicago Supervisor as a organizer in IAH. What's next Jimmy? Gonna let Smizek become a member?

After reading the terrible language in the recently ratified fleet agreement I don't see how anybody could vote for the Teamsters. They had two chances one with fleet at CO and another with the MX at UA. Does anyone want to give them a third chance?

4 scenario's:

1) IAM or IBT wins with majority vote 60% plus
2) no one wins majority vote - runoff election ensues
3) one of them wins but with small majority 51-52% - will be contested by the other
4) no union gets majority

Either way, if your for a union, 3 out of 4 means a much longer process. Don't plan on a contract being finished for some time. :unsure:

Not surprising, not being on the list. UA wants the reamsters to win. The company knows the IAM will stick to their Members demands. Jeffy there will not be a run off...... After the Machinists kick the reamsters to the curb..........I predict by.... over 5000 votes. They will be coming for their retro. The vote is going to show the IAM has the juice. Less than 24 hours the results of the ual-cal fleetservice representation vote will be official. However, everyone already knows the results. IAM by 6000. The organizers of the IAM have taken CLE and a have split IAH and EWR. All the while the IAM hubs have remained strong IAM.

Let me break it down Total Vote: 12000, IAM 9000, IBT 3000

As a UAL Mechanic I will predict this if the ibt wins. Within one year all those who helped organize and campaign for the ibt, they will disappear as they did for the mechanics. They will realize the horrible mistake they made and deny or act as if they never voted or campaigned for the ibt. Good luck.

Just to be clear, I'm not endorsing either side (I don't work at UA). I just know from first hand experience that what the polls may indicate running up to the final count don't always come to fruition.
