REVENUE CATCHING IDEAS

Flight Chic they wouldn't get rid of the inflight magazine. You actually answered why, all that advertisement brings in alot of revenue for the company.

Ok now this deals more with International operations but how about shared glassware/china? Instead of flag symbol glasses why not STAR china/glassware for ALL star alliance carriers. All STAR carriers could share the expense. Many of our international gates are being consolidated into terminals with other STAR carriers. That to me would seem easy possibly.

Do what it takes to get that stupid 11pm noise curfew lifted in CLT. Any flight that starts to taxi after 10:40 will get runway 5/23 and you can be in taxi line for 45-60 minutes even if the weather is good. I have heard the CLT airport manager could get the curfew changed or eliminated but he plays politics with it. This curfew is costing us a lot of money and wasted time.

I wasn't aware there was a noise abatement pm curfew in CLT. Learn something new everyday.

Anyway, Jerry Orr, couldn't get that removed if he wanted to. That would be up to the City Council and the City Manager.

Not to show my age or my colors,

But since NASCAR is one of the hottest tickets around. How about getting back into the sport and sponsor a car.

Everytime the car goes around the track its FREE advertisement. I know Piedmont never had a great driving team but were

known around the circuit as the AIRLINE TO FLY. That big PIEDMONT sign around turn 4 (i think) in clt was on T.V for 2 hrs every sunday

twice a year.

Its not really free, for example Mountain Dew and the National Guard pays $24 Million a year to Hendrick Motorsports to Sponsor Dale Jr.

Some of you had mentioned selling blankets. The current blankets we have are so thin and never cover the whole body. How about a nice fleece one - similar to the one Mastercard gives out to the customers who sign up for the credit card ? If it is nice enough, people will use it OFF the airplane. Consider it free advertising.

Everyone was dissapointed that we never got our glassware back on the East. How about SELLING glassware? "Sir, for 3 dollars more you can drink your beer in this lovely pilsner glass." It would have our logo on it and have a nice cardboard box ala Hard Rock Cafe. Maybe have limited edition glasses too, with co sponsors. Say Coke on one side, Usairways on the other.

it would be nice to see a USAIRWAYS car on the trac. my auto mechanic and I talked about that and he said in todays age, it would cost aroung 3 mil just to have the car and team and maintaince then there are the ads but it would be nice

sales of pillows and blankets (nice ones) is on the (tentative) agenda. kinda what like air canada has.

No NASCAR sponsorship is only three million dollars, you are talking at least $15 Million per car per season.

Like I stated before, HMS gets $24 Million a season from the National Gaurd and Mountain Dew to sponsor Dale Jr.

rent portable dvd players and movies like they have in...where was that? some airports have them...IAH? Charge like $X have them put it on a credit card and have them sign that they buy it for $XXX if they dont return it

I have an idea... Install a third bulkhead and bring back business class. Even if the seats are still coach seats, keep children out of it. Make the people with kids sit in the rear of the plane. Kind of follow WN's lead - make this "business class" come with a free drink and a few extra frequent flyer miles.

Considering that US's F class is still the worst of all of the legacies (even with the improvements), I think that an E+ section (albeit as a separate cabin, not part of the Y cabin like UA) would be a much better investment. The trick is that it still has to book as a Y fare class, so that business travelers with corporate travel policies which prohibit travel in F can still book it.

If the Choice Seats program is doing well, imagine how much more revenue they could generate if they actually had a product with decent pitch to sell, vs. a seat closer to the front of the plane with the same pitch.

There is also a problem with the selling of pillows and blankets on the airplane. Space and volume.

Pillows can take up one or two overhead bins, depending on quantity, on an A320. In an era where airlines are already charging for second bags, more people are trying to carry more onto the plane in the form of their first bag. So, overhead space is under more space constraint pressure than before. I am not, per se, against the sale of these items. Just that carrying inventory around is counterproductive. So, sell them at the gate. Inventory is much easier to control and accounting is far easier than forcing a FA to do it when they are headed away from the hub, especially for a RON. Just make sure that folks know that if they want to purchase a blanket or pillow that they must do it on the ground and that economy passengers will not have access to any once the aircraft leaves the gate.

Not necessarily. You take a pillow and a blanket rolled up tightly and wrapped in plastic you can get them relatively small. I bet you'd get at least 4 per drawer. You'd be amazed at what we stuff in a duty free cart. Look at all of those carts in the back of a narrow body airbus. TONS of space back there in the carts if they could just get the pack outs done correctly. I'm sure with the new pack outs on the way there will be room. No need to have ANYTHING in overheads.
