What's new

South America

Perhaps the west MEC is worried about dealing with a group (the GAG) screaming "DOH" (forgetting about the small issue of career expectations and the like) half of whom still fancy themselves in the left seat of a UA 777.

That might make someone somewhat leery of the next merger, moreso than the possibility one is actually going to happen. Kind of like not getting burned again.

Does anyone really think that management would leak anything about an acquisitions that would come with pilots (on widebodies, no less) to ALPA before day 1? I don't think DP wants to be the Crocodile Hunter to ALPAs stingray....

Nothing against pilots but I think by now history has shown you that you could not see the future with a plane full of psychics and a time machine.

And even if you did know something, blabbing about it won't win you any of those raises you want. 🙄

LOL! If I had a dime for every pilot rumor, I'd have a crapload of dimes, but not be rich.

(note to self, next time wish for a kruggerand for every pilot rumor)

 Aw, let us not bunch them all into one category, as many are in possession of their sanity, have an acceptable level of self-esteem, a full and healthy life outside of the internet, don't require the acceptance and approval of the poster/readership of every forum this side of the Mississippi in order to function, and don't belong the to super secret imaginary sources club. There are  exceptions  , to every rule, even in Rio. 😉

It is very interesting to see the reactions of folks when one person acts like they have some inside information(USA320Pilot). Be careful when someone claims they have inside info and will not name their source.Even if they name their source I would be very suspect. Step back and look at the facts:

1. Delta is doing quite well both profit wise and cash wise.

2. Delta would be crazy to sell some of the family jewels.

3. Negotiations are taking place which is a fertile breeding ground for rumors of this type, and I want to re-interate this is only a RUMOR from either a creditable or non-creditable source.

4. Don't you think someone on Wallstreet or the news would have wind of this and you would have seen it on financial blogs by now.

5. Oh and by the way oil is gong back down again as I type and suspect it will keep going lower.

What aircraft would service these routes if DL sold off their 762's and US 762's and A330s are fully utilized?

DL has gotten rid of all its 762s all ready.

Exactly. Sold to ABX for freighter conversion.

Maybe US will get DL's eight 777-200ERs? 😀

Or maybe US will get a bunch of DL's 763s? 😀

I've seen some crackpot rumours here before, but the Original Post in this thread is as outlandish as they come.

Don't be surprised if US buys DL's S American ops? Operation Peachtree Defoliage.

Good Grief.

I say - Don't be surprised if US schedules flights to the Moon and Mars next month. 😛

You mean you missed that one? OPERATION MAN ON THE MOON & OPERATION MAN ON MARS.

Who said the information came from ALPA?

Regards,

USA320Pilot

So you really believe that someone (management, investment house) is giving YOU this info?

What the heck are you smoking? It would be completely illegal for anyone to give out this information, if it were to come. Don't you think this so-called "insider information" would find it's way to the SEC? This is a public forum...

Just remember, we're in contract neg.!

Delta has the right to file its own plan of reorganization just as USAir did in both BK cases. DL wants to stay independent and is producing the financial results to prove it is capable of doing it. It is all but impossible to execute a hostile takeover in BK.

You know, WT, nothing in the OP (or in the entire thread, for that matter) involves any discussion of a hostile takeover of DL. The OP's outlandish rumour is that DL will agree to sell its S American Operations on a turn-key basis.

Clue -

I find your post absolutly disgusting. If you were killed in a horrific accident, I'm sure posters on this board would't like me saying the day afterward that your death was comparable to a fight between airline management and a union group.

Shame on you and rest in peace to Steve Irwin, a man who I knew and was a great person.
