STL mainline schedule speculation

TranStates now says they are adding RJ’s at STL and picking up at least some of the flying to about 15 cities, including DCA, EWR and DEN.

Based on this, and the preliminary word that mainline departures are dropping to 53, I did some speculation on what might happen to the current mainline markets at STL. It’s 100% speculation, and I can only guess what mainline routes another AA* carrier might take over, but here’s a possible tally that comes up to 53/day. Mainline flights per day listed at left:

0 ATL 5 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 AUS 3 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
3 BWI 5 now
3 BOS 5 now
0 COS 2 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
7 ORD 12 now
0 CMH 4 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
8 DFW 12 now
0 DEN 5 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 DSM 3 now, all to another AA*
2 FLL 3 now
1 RSW 1 now
0 BDL 3 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 IND 3 now, all to another AA*
3 LAS 4 now
3 LAX 6 now
3 MIA 4 now
0 MSP 6 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 MSY 4 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
4 LGA 6 now
0 EWR 5 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 ORF 3 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
3 MCO 4 now
2 PHX 3 now
0 RDU 3 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 RIC 3 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 SAT 4 now, all to another AA*
3 SAN 4 now
3 SFO 4 now
3 SEA 5 now
2 TPA 3 now
0 IAD 4 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*
0 DCA 6 now, all to TranStates and perhaps another AA*

Total: 53/day

This is certainly just speculation. And perhaps just because TranStates is going to be adding STL-DCA (for example), that doesn’t necessarily mean that RJ’s are taking over ALL of the STL-DCA flights. But we know several longer routes are being kept which are most likely not going to RJ’s (SEA, BOS, LAS, etc). Allow a few mainline flights to those cities, throw in mainlines to DFW, ORD and LGA, and you approach 53 very quickly. I suspect that similar to Delta’s hub at DFW, nearly all the flying from STL under 900 miles will be on RJ’s (except for DFW and ORD).

Actually, this speculation is pointless now since someone has posted what appears to be the actual plan on this board (under the STL Gone thread, I think.)

Frankly, I''m surprised at how low everything is cut down. Most LGA and LAX are 3x, most remaining mainline are 2x (like BOS) or 1x (like MSY). This is a real slash.

There is no need to speculate. The fact sheet, which AA released yesterday, spells out all the changes.

You forgot PHL, which AA pushed US out of the mainline service.

Sorry about that...I had it on my list but must have buzzed past it.

PHL is currently 5x mainline, and my speculative list puts them all RJ by 11/1. They were a city on TranStates list of new routes.
