We'll see, won't we. Guess as long as I'm boarding SWA, it's money UAL won't see, ain't it?

I'd rather you keep fly'n SWA. All those people over there
who fly and work for SWA and Jetblue or Airtran are greyhound bus. So perhaps you fit right in on that LLC.

AA,DL,UAL are still first class! Indeed I have worked 11yrs
with AA and now UAL 9yrs. I'd rather pay full fare at higher price next to a first class coach instead of someone nasty and dirty that smells like they came off
greyhound.
so stay on swa... we like the first class travlers.

You know, when I fly SWA, I have more money to spend on REAL first class treats than a real glass and silverware.

BTW...what about that first class passenger who defecated on the UAL serving tray...or those "models" enroute to Tokyo who caused the UAL flight to land in Anchorage? If that's "first class"...I'll stick with Southwest. Of course, I'd guess over the course of that 20 year career, you "paid" very little to fly...didn't you now?

Don't be a Dick!

Trash has no economic structure as seen by our ‘elitist’ pax.

We sell them a ticket, they are not ours to raise.

UT

JMHO,
Get used to it, it will not get better

Then tell your cohort that some of us who fly SWA never set foot on a greyhound bus...are NOT white trash...and are in very many cases far more "financially secure" than someone who wastes money to sit in a wider seat. And...that "white trash" money seems to be working for Southwest...perhaps your coworker might welcome some of that...you need all the money you can get you know.

Might I add that Hemispheres has the HIGHEST median income of any magazine in the US...

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Want to reach affluent households? Try the in-flight magazines. In an annual rite of spring, magazine publishers and media buyers are spending this week poring over newly released measures of their titles' total readership, household income and readers' ages by Mediamark Research. And two of the titles boasting the highest household income are United's Hemispheres with $119,588 and American Airlines' American Way with $100,026.

Southwest Spirit also scores one of the highest household incomes, with $93,916, while Continental's in-flight audience has household income of $86,867 for all adults (but gets over $100,000 mark for men, at $104,100).

Only a handful crack the $100,000 or more mark, such as both Dow Jones publications Barron's ($110,562) and Wall Street Journal ($118,940), as well as The Economist ($107,024). Time Inc.'s Real Simple readers have a surprising amount of money with which to simplify their lives, $92,438 annual household income for all adults ($115,234 for its male readers). That outpaces both Martha Stewart Living's $68,020 household income and the $66,981 income of readers of Hearst's O, The Oprah Magazine.

There's a difference between income and "financially secure". How many folks make 6 figure incomes, yet have a negative net worth? But you are correct...I believe the guy who pooped on the serving cart had an income that exceeded that median amount - money can buy a lot of things - class isn't one of them.

Based upon your posts I would assume that you have money, but....

KCFLYER has no class and he has no money...hell he flies that WT hauler out of MCI...I think we all know what that is...One day way back in my commuter days the CMH controller told me to follow the hotdog with mustard on it for 10L clered the visual. I must say to this day looking at SWA planes still makes me think of that...cheap paint jobs and of course the cattle call.

You have no clue.

If you think wanting to pay the lowest price possibly for an airline seat makes people "White Trash" then you're a fool.

What is the old joke about the girl with big mouth, chewing gum and short skirt in line at the ticket counter? She say's something along the line of "let me in front because I am a first class passenger!" To which someone in line said "first class is more than just a ticket sweetheart"

Or maybe that was a story I saw on the SWA TV show. I think it could be called SWA= Street Walker's Airline. If yo' HO is needing to GO, Come fly SWA.

You know, for an airline that still can't figure out how to make money after three years in BK, I would think your attitude towards ALL prospective passengers (they are the ones funding your paycheck, remember?) would have become a little less condescending.

Deregulation happened. You really need to get over it.

Let's all get one thing straight. People who make fun of those individuals who shop for the lowest possible ticket price only succeed in showing their ignorance of the world around them.

The fact is that given the ever-increasing price of oil, many families have no choice but to shop for the lowest ticket price available. Does this make them "white trash" or losers? No. They do it out of necessity. It is only going to get worse because the price of oil is only going to climb. It will NEVER return to the price levels seen a couple of years ago.

I am an ex-United employee. I live in a medium-size city in the midwest. It has a fairly good sized airport. However, it has no low cost carrier presence. So, as expected, the fares are outrageously high. However, there is another airport 100 miles away that has LCC presence. When I must fly, I have and will continue to drive that 100 miles whenever I can to get the lower fare, when it makes good economic sense given the price of gas. Why do I do this? Because I have no choice. I would love to give United my business. But I simply cannot afford to take my spouse and children on flights when the fares are so high. As the price of gas continues to go up, it forces us all to re-think our spending. That doesn't make us "white trash", it makes us good consumers.

So don't belittle and insult consumers because of an airlines' inability to offset its continued high costs. That's their fault, not the consumers'.

It's all so petty...SWA is a good product. It's transportation so people can get to point a from b. They have at least as good a safety record as UAL or any other 'major' airline, which they are as well.

Shopping for a low cost good product is common sense. Especially when you know your dollars are going to an organization that treats its employees with respect and dignity and pays them a good wage. It's supporting good value and good values. What more should the average joe blow responsible consumer do? If you have money to burn and care to spend it on the amenities, then by all means go ahead. SWA is a good value and a good company. More f*%cking power to 'em!!!
