What's new

The Struggle Is About To Start.

I agree,,,
So does the inside..

Isn't a union SUPPOSED TO FIGHT FOR THE EMPLOYEE'S?

All they do any one of them is SLEEP WITH CORPORATE and LINE THIER pockets..
Bless their Bastard Hearts!!

I'm not a union person, this is my FIRST and HOPEFULLY MY LAST!

DUMP THE IAM< & CWA>>>>

Can we de-certify them when we are out of BK?

Why don't you educate yourself on what happened, the unions had no leverage in the process as you saw what judge mitchell did.

And you are the union, when was the last time you did something for someone?

Do not get the TWU! [Warning! Will Robinson! Warning!]
What will the top scale mechanics now earn after the latest round of concessions?

That is the biggest line of bull ever spoken. It always comes from Union leaders when they haven't had the cajones to do their job, and think that they can pass off their failure on the people who voted them in to power.

The vast majority of union member are paying to have people represent them. A good employee has to do his job well and take care of the passengers so they will come back.

A good union rep should be about the business of watching the backs of all the good employees while thiefs like Wolf try to stab them in the back.

Telling us "You are the union is like telling a stock holder, who has cancled shares from USAir, that "you are the company".

It is time for ALL THE UNION LEADERS to get off their dead _ _ _ and call a nationwide strike for 72 hours of all unions of all airlines. I'm also including the Teamsters Truckers.Shutting down the transportation in the U.S for 72 hours would give the workers a public forum to voice their concerns. As it stands right now no one is listening.

The management of companies can only take what the workers allow them to take whether its by concessions or a BK judge. The company won't have ANY money if the employees shut them down.
This is probably the best time for a strike in the past 30 years,It is foolish to strike when the company has lots of extra cash on hand and assets that are not being used as collateral for operating cash.
KICK THEM WHILE THEY ARE DOWN!

Did anyone on this forum see results of the Longshoreman's strike about 1 year ago on the west coast? They weren't even on strike 48 hours before major corporations such as Wal-Mart were screaming for their shipping containers with the merchandise. It did not take long for the union members to get the dispute resolved.
Management and Politicians think everything is fine if there is no rebellion and everything is status quo.

700uw: you are wrong, the iam could have negociated the inevitable ( full outsourcing of utility, gse, plant mtc, etc, etc, in exchange for keeping wages and benefits for the remaining members but they did not , the iam went for cuting wages and benefits to preserve a few extra jobs in pittsburgh and clt wich the company is going to eliminate anyway. dont you see it.

THE IAM COULD HAVE NEGOCIATED FROM THE BEGINIG ,BUT THEY OPTED TO LET THE COURT IMPOSE IN B/K WHRE WE HAVE NO CONTROL WHATSOEVER

the company can abolish my job if its not necessary, but keep wages to the level they should be.

this is how you promote the trade.

or should we have taken an additional 20% pay cut to keep everyone on the payroll
better yet why dont wetake another 50% pay cut and hire an additional 2000 utility ,
the numbers(meny)will be the same. get it.

the iam sold us out.

The IAM has truely shown that it is not capable of representing its members and must be replaced. To send a 'final offer' out for ratification is nothing short of a spineless act by those who cannot project collective bargaining power. The thinly veiled attempt to cover its tracks by 'allowing' its members to 'determine' their own fate is nothing short of spineless. The one act of courage they can do now is to NOT sign the ratified agreements and force the company back to the table. Signing it would be a gutless act.

Of course some will say that saving 3/4 of the jobs with now beyond poor working conditions is worth it. Some say that human dignity is a much more valuable holding.

The CWU proved that it is much more of a union than the IAM....I just wonder how AMFA would have handled this.

DENVER, CO

If your wondering how AMFA would have handled this, just look at AMFA at UA now.

its funny how now all you mechanics are fighting umongst yourselves blaming the union for letting the agreement pass. the members voted . the vote passed. get over it and get on with life. there is nothing that can be done. arguing about it is not going to solve anything. lets move on.

It will be very interesting to see how the AMFA mechanics at UAL will vote in a few days.
I would also like to point out that it is not necessarily the union (IAM, AMFA, TWU, etc) that represents you but the membership itself. The US mechanics/ ramp etc. are represented by the IAM and they voted for this thing. The EAL mechanics/ramp were IAM and they told Lorenzo to shove it and walked out.

NWA ties pay levels to United's

Some union leaders reject comparison

BY MARTIN J. MOYLAN

Pioneer Press

If Northwest Airlines' employees want a good idea of what their future wages and benefits might be, they should look at what's happening at United Airlines.

That's what Eagan-based Northwest tells employees in this month's issue of the company's internal newspaper, Passages, now arriving at workers' homes.
