What's new

To Kirk the Eastie who wrote up a West FA for her announcement....

I should have prefaced this topic with saying that I have met many east FA's and have found them to be a wonderful bunch. This was directed more at those that would write up another FA for a non-safety related issue. If it's life or death...yeah, write them up....but for an announcement? No

As an eastie based in PHL: Well said and I couldn't agree more...what an idiot

Only because you want it to get worse. Just do your job and quit the whining. People as yourself thrive on negativity, and that is sickening.
What kind of an idiot are you??? You say nothing nice about anything at all. Do you even know what their job is and could you possibly begin to try to do it? What's sickening is ameteur people like you with no integrity who were hired post 9/11 thinking you've been there done that. Look up the definition of Aviation Professional because that is the closest you're gonna get.

I rarely if ever post on this forum but I can honestly say I have met many wonderful FA's from the east. All of you I have met in the West briefing room, you are great and would love to work with you, those of you whom I have met while you were non reving on my flights, it was wonderful spending time talking about our contracts and all the issues that face us, but...this former PSA person who non reves from San Diego, appparently named Kirk, to PHL .....shame on you,..shame shame shame on you. We are all in this together and we deserve better than what you have done. Yes, we have a few on the West who are write up happy and would turn you in to Inflight just for the sake of doing it, but for goodness sakes, get a life. I can't imagine in my wildest dreams turning in a coworker for anything other than jeopardizing my safety and the safety of those we are flying from point A to point B. I think Kirk should receive thousands of pink announcement books in his mail for years for his insane discretion.

Hmmmmm probably not a good time to be Kirk. There are NOT that many that commute from SAN with the name Kirk considering the fact that many of the commuters are female. What a total A-hole. Oh Kirk.....are you a poster on here? Better hope folks don't find out who you are. Think about what I said before and the lady who ratted on the f/a taking water off the plane. What did he think he was going to accomplish by turning in a f/a for announcements. I asked before but will again if they seriously would "look into this" in regards to announcements. A supervisor would get chewed out by most for even THINKING about bringing us in for something like that. Especially with how this company is ran today and absolutely NOOOOO accountability for ANYTHING. I as an Eastie am seriously sorry this happened. NO way to build bridges at all

Let me clarify something that is on the AFA West board. Kirk is the person at West that received the email from the East f/a complaining about the "west" announcement. Kirk put this out to see if it needed to be in a must read for "west" flight attendants. The person who wrote the letter was a former PSA flight attendant who now commutes from SAN-PHL and didn't like the way the taxi-in announcement was made. The flight attendant on the west side was written up based on this flight attendants letter to management. It was placed in her file and has since been removed by the union after it was grieved.

I don't know about west but if you are written up by a coworker here at east they have to tell you who wrote you up. It's NOT a secret. We need names, names, names. 😉

Kirk is the one who wrote to inflight management, we have his whole memo, full last name. He is the one who was a former PSA f/A, now commute from San to Phl. Kirk, is not a West F/a. In the memo, he states his last name and 1st nam....... and it is Kirk.

Flytchick is totally correct on this clarification. There is NO FA named Kirk that commutes from SAN-PHL. Kirk works in CHQ and is the one who responded to the letter that was written by this East FA.

We all need to realize that we are all in this together, and writing up a flight attendant over an announcement is ridiculous. We have more important issues to worry about and we all need to focus on a joint contract that benefits ALL of us not pit one side against the other.

Sorry drrstrav but I believe you are incorrect. When I look at the memo it states that Kirk has received the letter at askinflight.com and Kirk is asking Bob Hemphill is this needs to be a must read. That is why at the end he asks the question of Bob. Kirk I believe is the one responding from the askinflight.com website.

Hopefully "Kirk" or whomever did the writing up will recieve? the welcome on future flights that he deserves.
I hope that "Kirk" was not an actual SAN commuter but a simple nonrev.
People generally would not pi$$ people off on the flights that they plan to commute on regularly. If people have issues it should be addressed through AFA.
It is cowardly to run someone up the flag pole in front of the company-there are other avenues to take if something bothers you that much.
Did any PAX complain? What was the issue?
"Kirk" has also endangered the commuting experience for all the other SAN,SNA,ONT,LAX,BUR,LAS,PHX,SFO,LAS,SAC,RNO,PDX and SEA commuters(have I missed anyone?).
Let us know what happened. We may be able to help.

What kind of a low-life is this "Kirk"? I don't have the slightest clue as to how to even begin to write someone up much less take the time to do it. If you have "that" big of an issue with someone that is what professional standards (afa) is for. This "issue" that "Kirk" had with the announcements in no way constitutes a write up to ANYONE. 1) It's a complete waste of inflight's time to have to follow up to such ignorant stupidity. 2) It's going to create even more unneeded and completely avoidable bad feelings between the two work groups.

Nice going "Kirk" you big JERK!! The East was hearing all of these horror stories about the West being write-up happy. Now look what you've done. The egg is on the other face now. Thanks alot. Real Nice!!

This thread is a good example of how half truths can create a bad reputation.

The real truth to this letter is that it was recieved by inflight policies and procedures thru the askinflight email. NO name was published as to who the east FA is,who sent the email. Kirk is one of the analyst who checks the emails and responds/forwards them to the appropriate department to answer.

I agree that the west crew should not have added the owned/operated by America West Airlines. We are now almost 2 years into the merger and this who aquired who needs to stop and stop now. If we spent as much energy on the contract talks and forming unity between east and west FA's we would become a formatable workforce. If we choose to continue dividing the two groups we all will loose.

Only you and you alone choose you attitude. No one else can dictate that. Not me, your family, the company, the union or your friends.

Kind Regards.

Sorry, my mistake, I stand to be corrected!!!!My apologies!!!!!!

No problem - at least we have cleared poor Kirk's name from the nasty list. All I know from the threads is that there are several commuters from SAN-PHL that are being a little challenging while commuting. The flight attendant that was written up by this commuter is an exceptional employee and I was amazed that it happened. If you have an issue with an employee - address it to them first then professional standards at the union. NEVER EVER get the company involved.
