Has anyone heard the details on what the training/recurrent will be for the recalled flight attendants? Length of time, ect?

From what I've heard if you are going to PHL and were with MAA...
You need: 1 day recurrent, 1 day A330 , and 1day INT service.

If you are going to BOS or LGA I assume only one day of recurrent.

If you have been on furlough the whole time you may have up to 2 weeks requalification. Depends on length of time you were gone. ouch.

Hope that helps

Thanx for the info! Unfortunately, that would be me. 😉

Hi Nick
I would be surprised if you had to go to 2 weeks of recurrent. When we came back to MAA trainning it was 1 week.
4 days of mainline and 1 on the EMB. But who knows.

I know at AA, the training length depended on the amount of time you were away from the company. IE. the longer the furlough, the longer the training was.

My training ended up being.

1 Day recurrent
1 Day international

Because I started at MidTitanic in the month of May, I have to do recurrent. Those that started in other months will not have to do recurrent until they are due for it based on their MidTitanic time.

I do not have to do A330 because I was based in PHL at mainline and already did the training for it then.

You will have to do it again to return to your original base month....right? That is what I have been told by a few returning f/as

IE. the longer the furlough, the longer the training was.

I took a VL in 1/03 but was snagged with the invol in May/June (?) and plan to return in December if the recall then pans out, so I would be thrilled if training was only a week. 😀

My orginal hire date was in May at mainline also, so I do not know for sure. A girl that was in my mainline class came to MAA in Sept. Her recurrent training is not due now. She only has to do international at this time.

Her recurrent date, as it stands now, is Sept. which is the same month she came to MAA.

That is all I know. What will they do in the future I can't say.

depends on your qualifications from before.... for example

i was transatlantic division... good fro 36 months
i was midatlantic division... recurrent good for a year
i was PHL based where all F/As, even domestic were A330 qualified

so im set to go, legal to fly on june 1st. when i go to recurrent in a month i just have to touch the A330 door because they skipped it at MDA because only PHL F/As and ITD F/As were trained on it... dont have to go thru actual A330 training just touch the door

I just had reccurent in March..so all I have to do is International Service Training.(and just do the door for 330..I was trained on it before) But, I am good to go on duty June 1st too. I just can not do Transatlantic until I get through the service training. Everyone has a different story. It just all depends on when you left , got furloughed, trained at MAA...ect.. So, June 1st it is for me! See you all on line!!!

Funny that us MDA people we "were not mainline" but are able to go back to work mainline four years later without a single day of training. yeah, thats right, we werent mainline at all the last two years carrying that manual around.

HMMMM...you are soo right!

Yeah, being on mainline I always asked why we had the EMB-170 a/c in our manual. If it was "express" or a different "division" then why would we have it. NEVER a straight answer. I mean, we don't have any of PSA's a/c in our manual and they are an owned carrier. HMMMM I'm so happy that you folks are returning. It will be great to see some fresh faces and positive attitudes. There is not a lot of that these days even with some of the positive changes. SEE YOU ALL SOON.

I was originally scheduled for my recurrent on June 27th, they said I was "good to go" ( I was in the ITD when I was furloughed). I went ahead and called back and got my recurrent moved up to June 1 so I only have to do one day of training. Looking forward to seeing all of you out there on the line.......good thing I have my French Visa!
