The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) today announced a partnership to jointly represent nearly 30,000 ground workers at the “new” American Airlines following the merger of American Airlines and US Airways.

OK you know more about union stuff than I do 700 ...

So are you saying that there will NEVER be a representational election between the TWU and the IAM ?
 
Never say never, but its not going to happen if the members approve the association.

So how will this work when it comes to contracts? Separate ones, or a single one? Can't wait to hear all of the details.

Curious as to how this may or may not affect AA Tower employees, currently, as I understand it they are non-union where we with US are IAM.
 
it doesn't strike me as being in the best interests of our work group to be united under divided union leadership ....

of course I could be wrong , maybe this sort of thing is common place ... two unions overseeing the same combined work force ..

Talk to the pax service people upstairs in phx......get some insite before assuming anything..... ask them how they got things back from their BK contract......
