Hey AC dinker why dint you answer the question about the union hall. Hahaha cause you know it was anti democratic and a B.S. thing to do huh i love being able to shut you fools up

I'll bite. The problem was we had completely outgrown the old facility and something had to be done. There was limited office space to represent our members, limited storage to house documentation to support the membersip, limited parking to support the membership, an old storage building attached to the back of the old hall to prep cases for arbitration with limited climate control, the whole facility lacked security to protect the membership by way of fire, robbery, or other disasters. The need for expansion was very evident and steps were taken to build it. Great facility Local 514. You should come by and visit sometime. Membership meetings are generally the last Monday of every month, or if you would like, stop by any time during regular business hours and see the Administrative side of Local 514. This is your facility as a member, use it. 🙂

Limited parking for what? How many members show up to the meetings? Low turnout has been a norm at the monthly meetings. BTW what ever happened to the " Where's the gravel investigation? Yea you thought that maybe we all forgot about that one.

What he's trying to say is, "Stop by for a hot dog before you get laid off, we can talk about all the riff and the possibility of you getting back some day. Do you like my new office? You paid for it sucker, and look at all these twu certificates I earned! Here's a picture of me and Jim, you really can't see me, but thats the top of my head."

IIRC,
The IAM did the exact thing with the purchase of Local Lodge 1781.
Purchased it without membership approval 'for the good of the membership' as the 'membership' was too ignorant to see the need.
Pre internet but it left a lot of folks pissed off.
I do miss the pizza and draft beer at the meetings though... LOL
B) xUT

What kind of facility do you have to offer AMFAodie? Lawn chair in a city park just about do it?

All the airlines were outsourcing and referencing the low cost WN model that relies heavily on outsourcing. Thanks WN! Thanks for bringing all that work back in-house. You want us to be "lean and mean" like WN? So that means 65% to 75% outsourcing. We know that. You didn't get raises for all those overhaul people you don't have that UA, DL, AA, US, and NW had. The one time AMFA took the company on at NW they got it shoved up sideways. That's not winning brother unless your name is Charlie Sheen. "Winning!"

Wow Overspeed, pls keep up the good work. LOL...

So 80 to 90 guys quit AA to go to SWA, how many quit SWA to come to AA?

IF SWA was looking to hire thousands of mechanics they could get all they need from AA. If they put maint in ISP I would try and be the first on line and would quit AA without hesitation, I suspect so would everyone I work with.

Correct again Bob. SWA gets hundreds upon hundreds of resumes when they post an AMT position.

Dosen't matter, a union hall doesn't make the union...I'm glad you have a nice office dycweed

And a Union can't reasonably congregate without a facility designed to conduct the business of the Union. Why do I try to reason with you?

Where the people who Quit AA "at risk"? Not from what I hear. We just had another 20 year guy quit , left the industry.

It's not my job to get X-AA'ers a job here at SWA. But I will still post everytime we have an opening.

Now, now 1AA! They need somewhere to park those new Buicks!!!

You know what happened to our old IAM union hall at MCI? The title went back to the IAM international after the TWU take over, and sold off. I hear they made over $1 mill. off it!------- What would happen to that new Hall if the TWU is voterd out overspeed?
