Union members and PLI--REMOVE THEM FROM THE UNION

How many of you all over the system have union members participating in the PLI dog and pony show?

There are mechanics who have not been in their work area for well over a year getting paid full pay to sell the company's polite way of telling us we need to do more for nothing more OR ELSE!
The only people benefiting from the PLI crap are the ones participating in it by going back and forth to DFW and deriving phantom solutions for the company.
They are not doing the job they were hired and paid to do!

I think it is time they be removed from the union and be moved into the management ranks so they can no longer accrue seniority in the jobs they no longer do.

They are taking jobs away from others by their not being on the floor.

Isn't the opposite true? If these folks were "below the line" couldn't the company absorb a few more heads of attrition than otherwise possible?
 
Performance Leading Initiative. Just a buzzword.
Thats what the company and its lapdog TWU call it, I prefer to call it Propaganda, Lies and Intimidation.

While I agree with Hopeful the problem is how do you remove someone from the TWU for participationg in a union busting scam when the TWU endorses the program? We should be trying to remove the TWU and replace it with a union.

Yes and no. The person Hopeful is referring to is a Crew Chief. He retains the postion of Crew Chief while not working as a crew chief and the company has not backfilled the spot he left.In the meantime more of a burden is placed upon the other crew chiefs. If he quit or retired the position would be filled.
