US 48/49

Today Thur 6/22, US 49 left PHL for BOS around 3:40pm and returned as US 48 at 6:50pm. The plane was a 767. Is this flight a regular 767 service or was it a sub? Also can BOS handle a 767 at their gates?

Flt 49 is LIS-PHL-BOS with a 757, while 49 is the reverse routing. Apparently one of the new ETOPS 757's is broken so they used the 767 for the PHL-BOS-PHL segments.

it was a sub due to a broken (non ETOP) 757.

Yep, I worked in BOS in '96 for a time and the 767 came from FRA and later continued onto CLT around 5-6pm, always packed. It did the reverse as well, CLT-BOS-FRA.

They moved it from flying CLT-FRA which was a huge money maker to fly it BOS-FRA which failed and they moved the flight back to CLT, even drove LH out of the market.
