Quote below of N924PS, A former PSA pilot who benifited from a date of hire seniority list. In May 2007, this was his comment regarding the nic award.

924PS is interested in a joint contract for himself and has no regard for his fellow pilots.

Looks like we've come a long way since May 2007, when I made that post.

A joint contract will be good for every USAirways pilot, yourself included.

My high regard for my fellow pilots and co-workers is well known at this airline and has been for nearly 30 years.

Sweet dreams....

Okay, I'll bite, where did that expression originate "my bad"? I hear more and more people using it.

I assumed that, like much slang, it originated in "da 'hood." I figured it was the same generation that came up with "it' da bomb," or some such.

Every generation manages to confound its elders by coming up with terminology like that. Embarrassingly, my generation has "groovy," "outta sight," "that's heavy," and even "cool" (which has survived as "kewl.")

I'm sure "it's the bees knees" drove the parents of the 1920's crazy.

Not sure where it originated...I heard it (and used it) all the time when I was in middle school and high school in Los Angeles. A good 10 years (since I was in middle school).
On line, it says that it originated in the NBA with Minute Bol. Apparently, when he made a mistake he would say "my bad" instead of "my mistake" due to some issues translating his native African language. It caught on from there.

That's what it says. I wasn't there so I can't vouch for it, but the time period would be about right.

If it's not correct, then "my bad".

Thanks all, my get it now.

You are right, I will leave the analogies to scabs and sheep herders from bucks county.

Just for the record, LEO, I don't raise sheep in Bucks County. Corn's the crop. Think Bio-fuels. An acre of corn and you can fill up your SUV and starve a village all at the same time. I love free enterprize.

Also, would you please post a list of all East pilots who have crossed a picket line...I didn't think so. Now on the other hand, how many West pilots who went "down under" are still flying out West? Snoop

You pilots are like gangsters. You should have a sign you can throw up at each other back and forth in the terminal. That'd be entertaining for me, at least.

There is one. It's a Hawaiian "good luck" symbol. Or, so they said in the movie about the USS Pueblo.
