I did ask one of the westies to post the section of contract regarding re-payment and have yet to see a response. The company wasn't breaking the contract. They overpaid you and they were entitled to recoup that money a lot faster than they have. One time event or over a year...how did none of you notice you were being overpaid for a year?? I mean really?? Doug must have just been putting a little extra in your paychecks since you're the "Good Kids" out there. The company has been more than accommodating regarding this whole distance learning overpayment fiasco.

They have a history of taking "their" money back in one paycheck in other overpayment scenarios. That's just how it works sometimes.

You weren't thrown under a bus, you've been given basically 2 years to do what you wanted with money that wasn't yours to begin with. If you wanted to fund AOL with it and now find yourselves in a little hole it's not anyone's fault but your own.

I'm sure if USAPA came out and said you guys wouldn't be paid for distance learning in the future, and that you'd be "working" with out compensation...you'd all have rallied around...why can't we pay back the money? They can never do anything right in your eyes just like ALPA couldn't in the East pilots eyes.

I care about both because I contribute to Leonidas gladly & voluntarily (double T soon!). I pay USAPA as a condition of continued employment with the new US Airways. I wonder how many FRIVOLOUS LAWSUITS (remember the FAILED RICO lawsuits kids?) el presidente would file if the AWA pilot dues were placed in escrow? USAPA = Holding ALL US AIRWAYS pilots hostage since April 18, 2008!

Now what does it say in your west contract regarding over payments? The contract which both parties were bound to follow said 4 months right? If you could post that section on here maybe I'd understand where you're coming from a little better. Does it have a special hidden clause stating that you can forgo payment for future work done as a way of re-payment? I think you're lucky that you've basically have 2 years to make the repayment. Shoot...it's like the difference in pay between you and an east pilot in a month or paycheck or whatever you guys keep claiming.

Now that you've made an excuse for that meltdown...I didn't finger that as the sole thing the west was crying about. They basically cried about everything. I find it hard to believe it was a bunch of professionals in that room. Doug probably feels the same way...notice he's not heading back to PHX for the next crew news...and I'm sure it's not because you guys ask the tough questions.

One can only imagine what Parker was thinking with that group. Between the raincoat and the crazy clearly stressed east hater, it was a circus. Oh and FWIW I advocated eastern DOH as long as they stayed in base. After that system DOH 1993 (if I recall the time forming trump shuttle). But I actually would have been fine with DOH. But that was ALPA now, wasn't it!
