US Pilots Labor Discussion

While I wasn't opposed to your group getting pay parity, what you should remember are Doug Parker's words (paraphrasing): You will get pay parity through an new joint contract ONLY. The west group could shouted pay parity from the rooftops, and it would have made NO DIFFERENCE.

The west contract's amendable date came and went with Steve Bradford refusing to open negotiations for the west contract simply because USAPA chose to advance the east's interests at the expense of the west (and perhaps as retribution for the west NOT demanding parity to reward the east from disrupting negotiations).

USAPA could have pushed Doug to open negotiations while they are still responsible for administering the west contract. Perhaps that would have been a worthwhile lawsuit, if it came to that.

They probably could have ducked Addington if they had as well.

Stupidity often imitated but never equaled!

I truly hope you win the LOA 93 grievance. While you battle Parker for the definition of "final & binding" in an arbitration process, the west pilot group will become the lower paid labor source...gee, I wonder what that means regarding growth & minimum fleet? I wonder where the next set of A330's go?

Be careful what you wish for Sport, you might just get it.

Oh I wish for an LOA93 victory. Getting it will be just fine with me. I hope you do get some 330's out West. Growth at this Company? LOL That must be why this
Seniority is such an issue.....

The pay rate, will be the rate at 5/01/04, plus 6% The frozen rate, then the yearly 3% raise. That is now 6% of that rate. Not bad!
How about some numbers? What document are you looking at for the 5/1/04 rate?

How much per hour for each aircraft?

How about a reason for the lump sum? The company just being nice guys and handing you some extra cash?

They could have ducked Addington? They DID duck Addington. You wish they ducked it. It cost you 2 million for nothing 😀

Why did the east push across the table rates that were less than what they were expecting with LOA 93 snapbacks?

I am trying to get the numbers. I believe it was around 180/hr group 2 capt. As far as the two lump sums? They were and are in LOA 93. They had to pay them. For the some reason they agreed to pay that with no questions, and obfuscated the entire LOA 93 pay issue. Both are in the document.

I'm searching too BS for the numbers.

I know it was spelled out very clearly in LOA 93. Lump sum $35 million for 2 years. That was written in there. Why did the company give you $35 million for 2 years starting the day after your contract became amendable?

If it was spelled out for the lump sum why was it not spelled out clearly what rate you would "unfreeze" to? It would have been simple. Attach a rate sheet to the date. No looking no interpreting. Here are the rates.

Try thinking like a business instead of a pilot. The company was not going to give you $70 million PLUS pat raises without negotiating while they had ATSB loans to pay off.
